I've done RSO for years whenever I've gotten an itch for an extract @WildBill . I freeze the 62%RH herb, and put my stainless double walled cocktail pitcher & 100% rubbing alcohol into the freezer to bring them to the same temp as the herb. Then I put the herb, and alcohol in the pitcher. Swish for 30-60 seconds, and pour it through a stainless flour sieve into a Pyrex baking dish. Then, let it stand for a day or two to let it evaporate with zero heat application. Viola.


Edit: @Frank the Dank, mine has always tasted clean. But I've tried it with Everclear and it almost killed me..

I was going to ask about that. That would be my first assumption, had I the same problem. The second assumption would be that I put it down somewhere. Like I do with tools and stuff. Ah, the boat and house searches I have undertaken. Before buying another whatever, and then finding the original accidentally later. Sigh.

I've gone an extra step with 95% ETOH, I get my ETOH back in a still, leaving the extract behind.

So far though, I only do that with trim, and generally use the extract for salve. I prefer rosin for tincture which is the other thing I make if I don't vape the weed directly.

I am just pressing the last of the Panama Red. I am really really going to miss it. Stored in @Grove Bags this entire time it is in amazing shape. Like a fine wine it has aged and the aroma is so reminiscent of a fine Hashish from the Golden Triangle in the 70s. Very incense like.

The Panama Red was harvested November 18, 2020.

excellent results. Do you know what the RH in bags stored that long was? What RH do you normally store the bags in (the room, not the bag)?
