I think I definitely got a very good and quite thorough watering of the five gallon girls on the last feeding. :eyebrows::haha:
I rushed my watering, plain and simple. Anyway, the dry down's not where I wanted.

I'm admiring Asian haze in the big pot. I Gently shake that top cola and feel it's heft in the sway!:eyebrows::woohoo:
That very top of the top main color is pretty crazy! I'm looking over at this one bud to the right side and reach out to her and it's nice and very solid .

Then I saw two buds from each lady next to each other. I'm disappointed that I didn't take these in high res. Thought I had the settings changed.
This shows the size difference in the buds. The one on the lower left is the big potted girl and the one on the Upper right is in the 5 gallon pots. The smaller girl's bud is actually shading that bud slightly. The bigger bud is actually lower in the canopy.
The size of the pot is the only difference .

Now that does get me excited thinking about my first big bed grow.
Exactly how much Bud could I grow in a 4 by 4 with a 4 by 4 bed and just one girl with an extreme amount of training??:eyebrows::eyebrows::eyebrows:
I think it would be fun and entertaining! Hopefully, someday I can get to do it!

We have a witches brew in the making for the 5 gallon potted girls!:stir::eyebrows::woohoo:

It's basically the same as yesterday, but I did increase the inputs on both Blue Gold flower and my own FAA. Amino still remained at half dose. I'm fairly sure it's not going to be too much, but it's going to be pushing it a little.
The concoction is brewing 95 degree water and three quarters of a teaspoon of RootWise BioPhos, with a touch of Medina horticultural molasses.
I did get a fairly decent dried down so they should take this up very quickly.
I'll brew until about noon and then add the Root Wise enzymes at the time of application.

Today is 67 days from Flip ! Asian Haze Flowering time: 9-10 weeks. I kind of think that is from the first signs of flowering. If that's the case, then they are just over 60 days into flower. Like leading in everything, I expect the big girl to be ready before her smaller 5 gallon sisters.

If that's the case, then the 5 gallon girls will probably have their buds about the size of the big girl now.
That means big girl's buds are gonna be pretty nice sized!:eyebrows::eyebrows::eyebrows: I'm just hoping they don't get too foxtaily And just fill in.
Everybody is definitely raving about the Asian Haze mom they are smoking. With these cooler temps I'm trying to keep and with the arrival of the Cannatrol On Friday come I think there's gonna be a relatively drastic flavor change with all the preservation of the terpenes that I hope I will get.

Crazy Asian Haze Germination
Everyone except for the big potted girl got fully watered with the above witches brew. for a total of four gallons between them all.
And look what I found in the 3x3 tent!

I think it looks like a Crazy Asian Haze!!!:headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::haha::haha::haha:
So I'm taking that as a sign that it is time to take that girl down and harvest what seeds are there have after drying.
I'll chop her which she needs watering in a couple of days and put her in the drying tent.

Hi Bill…
With your experience with Earthboxes, when do you think the best time to top dress is? I was planning to TD when I 1st fill the rez, but was wondering if earlier would be better.
Soil is BAS Light.
- Thank You!

When I set up my Earth box and add the media, I add my first top dressing. I leave a clean area where I'm gonna plant, either the seed or the transplant.
This gives the top dressing time to breakdown to be available.

Those look like the little square ones. I think those are a bit deeper than the juniors and the regulars. About four and three quarter inches deeper. There is a distinct possibility you may have to do a top misting of water. They may have a problem wicking that far up and keeping the top dressing moist enough for bacterial activity and plant usage of the top dressing. With Earth boxes you must be careful about top watering to prevent washing of nutrients down into the reservoir. You can run into problems if that occurs with the reservoir flipping and turning acidic.

With that being as deep as it is, I think it probably will be about 21 days before you'll actually be able to fill the reservoir with some water. You don't want to fill the reservoir until the girl is ready for it. Depending on the moisture level of when you potted up their box, you can add a limited amount of water probably about 10 days out from Sprout. Probably for this size I would limit it to a Dixie Cup amount of water. All this does is have the wicking areas a bit more and moist so the roots will tend to go toward that area. Hopefully you packed the wicking areas when you potted it up. They need to be relatively firm fill the media in that area.

Take a look at this post. I kinda go over how I top Dress and what I do.

I packed the corners correctly & soaked with water & yucca.
They hold 10G of soil like the original Earthbox. Unfortunately, they only hold about 1.5G of water. You can see the watering tubes are not original & I also modded the grate for strength. The stock setup blows IMO.
I’ll go ahead & top dress today.
Thank You!

EDIT: Seeds are - Humminbird Hills “Black Z” & Speedrun “SLAMberry.

I think things in this grow are rapidly coming to an end.

The nugs on the 5 gallon potty girls are definitely getting firmer. Even the lower ones are getting very firm. @Waira said something on the order of 'little nuggets of goodness'. Raising them up last week might have helped a bit.

The big girl is still putting out lots of new growth on the buds. There are a few that are a bit more foxtaily than I really like, but really that only hurts bag appeal. I don't think anybody that partakes of my weed is really worried about bag appeal.

The seeded girls are also maturing quickly. I picked two seeds off the girl in the 2X4 tent and planted them last night. I just put them in rooter cubes and in my seed dome with a heated mat. The girl in the 2X4 tent has sections where the seeds are mature and quicker and I think that I may do like a partial harvest on her first The girl in the 3x3 tent seems to be a bit more uniform in the maturity. It's cannabis, go figure!

With the Cannatrol unit coming in this afternoon, I think I'll need to go ahead and do a Trichome check on the 5 gallon potted girls. I expect that they will be the first ones to go into the unit . Hopefully the girl in the right back corner will be the first one to mature. Her buds are the biggest of the five gallon girls.

@Frankthetank
I really haven't read a lot on the procedures. It says 4 day dry and an 8 day cure. So is that a 12 day dry and cure or does it do the whole thing in eight days? What do you normally get as an end product with a fully packed unit? 8 or 9 ounces?

What I'd like to do is pack the Cannatrol With the bud from how many ever 5 gallon girls it takes and run that through the full cycle. Any surplus would be fresh froze.
Hopefully the big girl will hold off a bit until that's done and then I will pack the unit with her buds and fresh freeze the remainder. All of her buds are hard including the very lower ones. I don't think it's gonna take much of what she has to offer to fill up the unit. I really don't think with this girl a partial harvest will do any good. At least not in this particular situation. The microscope will tell the tale on how this will be handled, I guess.

I will definitely wet trim the buds down as finely as possible to get the most bud possible into the unit.

Realistically looking, I'm hoping to get around about a pound of fully cured Bud and then a bunch of hash with dry ice shake. I suspect that I will have quite a bit of hash to play with. I definitely see multiple fairly large sized temple balls in my future and some nice live Rosin that I've never had with Asian haze. I suspect that the Live Rosin will be quite potent!:eyebrows::eyebrows::eyebrows::drool:

I hot glue window screen on top of the media separator to keep more of the media out of the water. You might want to try that on the next run. It's not super important though I don't think.

Just keep an eye on your top moisture level. I definitely think you will have a little bit of a problem for it to wick all the way up to the top with the depth that these pots have . Use one of those handheld small sprayers that spray a fine mist and just moisten the top when needed. Above all do not wash any nutrients into the reservoir.

So, it’s a total of eight days….4 dry/4 cure. Personally, I harvest tops first, and leave lowers to mature another week or so….or you could freeze them….

I don’t weigh, so have no clue….

Some folks that are tight on time dry for four days, store in groves, dry another for four days, and so on…..then store in the unit once everything is dry…(in paper lunch sacks)….so that’s another option.

Here’s a tip…. Ignore the instructions about hanging the drip tray on the most annoying hangers ever…. And just set it on the shelf…. Much easier…..or fashion a longer hose and get a bottle…. Let me know if you have questions….congrats on the new unit :d5: :pass:
