As I said the focus shouldn't be solely on the camera, even though it does play a huge role. But the main element in a good photo is lighting, and shadow. So to answer your question...You don't need expensive lights. You just need to think about lighting as multidimensional, and the number of sources of light you need to create your own areas of varying light and shadow.@NAGreengo, so we've been asking the wrong question.
