I think if i planted it in the right depth this would have been a day or 2 ago, like someone said it looked like she was searching for light for a pretty long time, once she found it that was it. Hopefully the cotyledons turn nice and green soon from being so light deprived and i can worry a lot less
This works better i bet, she has more of a root now

I have also found a trigger to force flowering, greatly reduce the blue/violet spectrum range, increase red spectrum ie. 620nm, 660nm red and start a 730nm far red on a 15 minute sleep and wake schedule. Works every time.

I have a feeling that’s probably not the case, it is most likely a parallel happening

meaning the roots are getting to the correct pressure point to trigger flowering

day neutral cannabis doesn’t respond to the normal florigen hormone photosynthetic trigger

autos evolved in places where they get aprox 18 hours of full intensity light and aprox 6 hours of less intense light

Lighting spectrum plays very little role in the flowering of day neutral cannabis in my experience

@4wiscoLegal420, I started out with autos (May 2021) because I was in a hurry to stop smoking 'mershy weed. My first few autos I screwed up pretty bad (not enough light, then too much, overdid the fertilizer, bug infestations, never heard of VPD). I still got 1/2 oz of nice bud off them. My first:

My plants have gotten better as I learn to treat them better, and use better genetics (thanks for all the the advice, Live Stoners!). My last plants gave 6+ oz each. It looks like the upcoming harvest of 3 autos will not disappoint:

Im definitely interested in auto growing in the future. But i wanna give photos a go to help me understand what a plant needs or doesnt. I can veg for a while and see if my game plan is gonna be fruitful. Im definitely gonna need help in the future.

No one warned me that vine was gonna make me itchy. There was so much and I'm sure we missed a bunch cause there were babies *everywhere*. Got a bunch of the grass pulled. Told hubby not to take all the sedge as I don't want the robot zone temp to spike and kill everything. They're getting bushy enough to provide their own shade pretty well but it's not 100% yet.

Also I'm seeing spots and feel like I'm about to pass out. Its really fucking hot. Pretty sure I'm sunburned already. Definitely my feet. We're gonna try again in like 3 hours or so. Idk why hubby insists on doing this stuff during the hottest part of the day instead of in the morning but whatever I guess. The mosquitoes are gonna be an issue when we go back out.

Honestly I find autos to be way easier. Photos make me feel like I'm having to nurse it for ages, autos its like you let them rip and away you go lol. But thats just me, and I take a super low involvement approach to growing. I started with FFOF and their nute line and then played around with stuff before realizing that no till living soil is what works for me. I ran both my first go and I learned a lot much more quickly with my autos.

I have done this countless times, as early as 18 days old in a 5 gallon pot, and in side by side tent grows on a 18-6 schedule with the only difference being the lighting spectrum. There is an immediate fast stretch that is visibly noticeable in 24-48 hours. The life span is the same between them, just several more weeks of bud growth and a different structure.

Semi related, hubby has been tasked with smoking through the archives and he's made several remarks about how much I've improved as a grower since I started a year ago lmao. He's like don't get me wrong the early stuff is still pretty good but it can't even hold a candle to the more recent stuff. I do think that's in part due to running better genetics but he's mentioned the difference between first and second runs of the same strain as well. So that makes me feel good lmfao.

I've had two of the same strain in the same pot size, soil, lighting, etc and they behaved completely different. Sometimes it really just comes down to the genetics of the individual plant as well. Spectrum definitely makes a difference in overall growth from what I've seen but without running from clones you're never gonna get a true single variable test.
