I was super overly involved for like the first 6 months and it really made the whole growing process not as much fun for me cause I was internalizing every issue and way overthinking things and basically being a total control freak about it lol. Letting go of control and letting the girls just do their thing made it enjoyable again cause it took a lot of the stress away. It also allows for swings in my mental health where I just can't even be bothered to get up to do anything or when I get hyperfocused on other stuff. Don't get me wrong some fantastic growers absolutely love a very scientific approach to it and there's nothing wrong with that at all, I just found it wasn't for me! Flexibility and allowing yourself to change your mind and your direction, to try new methods, are probably some of the most important parts of growing.

:yeahthat: Even deeper well said suki :bow:
I learned a lot much more quickly with my autos.
:yeahthat:Right there autos are so fast I’ve grown a lot of plants in a short time while learning a lot

Semi related, hubby has been tasked with smoking through the archives and he's made several remarks about how much I've improved as a grower since I started a year ago lmao. He's like don't get me wrong the early stuff is still pretty good but it can't even hold a candle to the more recent stuff. I do think that's in part due to running better genetics but he's mentioned the difference between first and second runs of the same strain as well. So that makes me feel good lmfao.
The wife just said the same thing other day about how strong the stuff has gotten :woohoo:

Well, second time Swordfish has bit me in the ass!:eyebrows:
I kicked back to chill a bit...................I wake up 3hrs later!:funny::funny::funny:

happens to me regularly:toke::crying::crying:

I have done this countless times, as early as 18 days old in a 5 gallon pot, and in side by side tent grows on a 18-6 schedule with the only difference being the lighting spectrum. There is an immediate fast stretch that is visibly noticeable in 24-48 hours. The life span is the same between them, just several more weeks of bud growth and a different structure.

I have lots of cultivars flower at 12 days in 5 Gallon pots

Again, day neutral cannabis doesn’t care about light when it comes to flowering

you see this is where it gets tricky

you said “the only difference” when that’s not the case. All of these come from seed, so each plant inherently is going to be different

when testing autos the only real way to get any kind of data that isnt Faulty is to run lots, and I don’t mean a few plants. I mean thousands, this is to get an average of what input or variable you are trying to test
Pheno variance is something that is hard to factor in when testing autos

Even with my early stuff I had people telling me it was the best stuff they'd smoked in years. Now I regularly get ever. Also that they've never seen this level of consistent quality in their decades of smoking. So that also makes me feel pretty damn good lol.

I've had two of the same strain in the same pot size, soil, lighting, etc and they behaved completely different. Sometimes it really just comes down to the genetics of the individual plant as well. Spectrum definitely makes a difference in overall growth from what I've seen but without running from clones you're never gonna get a true single variable test.
True enough that it isn't as clear cut as clones, but when they look identical up until they get their own tent and lighting(and I have done it several times) that it sure leads me in that direction. Now I don't know if it runs true for all autos as I have only done this to 4 different strains all 65-75 day types.
