We don't have rain gutters installed yet so i use 2 corners of the roof and catch the spout it makes when it runs off the roof, lucky for me its right next to the back porch and front porch so i have 2 20 gallon trash can i collect it with, unfiltered since i am not drinking it. then i start filling up those blue 5 gallon drinking jugs and store them in the lung room.
That was my system until two days ago. Finally got new gutters, which were very necessary (no more water seeping into the basement!). But now I've gotta rig up a new collection system. I'll probably try to throw up some cheap gutters on my garage and run them to my barrels

Took me awhile to get this journal updated today now i can go celebrate my birthday with my family and friends!

Take a look at my journal and tell me what you think, my favorite are those bruce banners.. they are different phenos but both crazy growers 1 is purple the other is just hulk smash big. The Red Strawberry Bananas smell SO good and 1 is red finally!

Happy Birthday @Zeromitch :bday:........don't Forget to make a Wish.............

Shots all 'round......

Ill have to look into it, we get quite a bit of rain up here so it might be worth it. Although I'm seeing rainwater is pretty acidic average ph of 5.5 even lower in highly industrialized or farming areas...thats me nothing but corn and soy for miles. Some rainwater collectors are getting ph in the lower 4's. So do you treat the water before using it?
You'll just have to check your water when it falls. It will change somewhat depending on where the storm came from. Mine is usually 7.6-8.2 and 20-30ppm so unless there's a bunch of leaves etc... i don't really bother filtering and if I do Ill just run it through a t-shirt.
