Technically collecting rainwater is illegal here. Though theres 2 ppl by me collecting rainwater from their garage roofs run off so idk I might give it a try...the question is how do I filter out the garbage that gets in there
Your question on how to filter the dirt and trash out, google that shit, it can be deep and expensive or cheap and diy.

Or more so, how do I just collect rainwater lol. You arent just sticking a container outside when it rains right?
We don't have rain gutters installed yet so i use 2 corners of the roof and catch the spout it makes when it runs off the roof, lucky for me its right next to the back porch and front porch so i have 2 20 gallon trash can i collect it with, unfiltered since i am not drinking it. then i start filling up those blue 5 gallon drinking jugs and store them in the lung room.

Ill have to look into it, we get quite a bit of rain up here so it might be worth it. Although I'm seeing rainwater is pretty acidic average ph of 5.5 even lower in highly industrialized or farming areas...thats me nothing but corn and soy for miles. Some rainwater collectors are getting ph in the lower 4's. So do you treat the water before using it?

I got 0.15 inches of rain in my gauge this morning :crying:To most of you that simply is not news but here in this desert that is very rare indeed for August.

Needles to say the RH is through the roof and I am running my dehumidifier.
