You really need to do something to keep up your core strength and flexibility. It's key to your well being and the progress of what's injured. It's only gonna get worse, no matter what you do, but keeping that area strong as possible will delay that progress.
I was in top physical condition when I was injured. It was the reason I survived and was able to recover after a year and a half of in patient and out patient physical therapy. I was around 290lbs and stupid strong.
For those with back problems, your bed is critical. I have a Purple mattress. I get an instant wave of no pain............for about a minute.........and it's at a lower level once the pain comes back. No regrets about buying it at all after 5years
