Just do a light dusting of the top soil around the stem a few inches and try to keep it dry. I would wear an N95 respirator during application with a duster.



@NAGreengo It is very possible that is a soil/compost mite. I did not use that picture because it is not in focus enough for a good identification.

I am 99% sure the picture I used is a thrip.

another prime example of picturez vs what the naked eye actually seez....in the bottom pic especially, it appearz that the bug duz indeed have 8 legz....however, is it actually 8 legz we're seeing, or 6 legz + 2 antennae-? hmmmmm.... ppp

To the left is where the rain is but my neighborhood is off to the right so hoping these isolated thunderstorms give us some precipitation! Been over 100 and dry as shit for weeks now!

Ya especially since on mites their 4th pair of legs comes out from the front of their bodies just below them antennas!
