That farm soil was not good, water would help but is it available or has drought conditions knackered everything?
Hard soil high clay content, with large rough pieces of (not broken down) fibrous material, no signs of any real organic matter.
Bone dry and using a polyculture mulch layer, stops weeds and if not permeable, no water for young roots.
I'm sure there is a lot more the video isn't telling us, as to why it is so barren!
Or is it just Global warming?
