"I smell weed."
Every time I've heard an officer say that, there was no weed. The last time wasn't that long ago. He was a Texas DPS officer. When he said those infamous words, I asked him for his supervisor's phone number. When he asked why, "I want to ask him if he knew you were fishing while on duty." :smoking:
Got a speeding ticket for 6 over, when it was done and signed the leo asked if he could search my car cause he smelled weed.....looked at him with a straight face and said " well, you know officer, now that you mention it I do too....but not knowing what your departments policy is about smoking on the job I really didn't want to rat you out.....and no, you can't"

I have a fox den about 60 yards from the house, I hear them all the time. If you want to hear something that will curdle your blood is a bobcat screeching!

We have a old fart that lives near the top of the mtn overlooking town who goes out on a foggy morning at dawn and plays the bagpipes, that will raise your hackles as well!
LOL.....Bobcat!
Right after I bought my farm, my Uncle and I went fishing beside the Brazos River, less than 4 miles from the house. It was well after midnight and we were close to our limit on channel cat and had caught two big Blues. It sounded like a woman being tortured and it seemed REALLY close but on the other side. It was a cougar and we didn't have ANY weapons on us other than my Buck knife. After it hit muh brain what it was, that ol adrenaline hit HARD AF! We had a fire, but we also had quite a meal for a cougar too. We didn't have to say a word to each other/ We gathered up everything and left. That cougar knew we were there, with the wind blowing in the direction of the sound.
That's one sound you'll never forget for sure! I never knew they were so damn loud and it bounced the cliff about a half mile away. I was never without my 92F when I went down to the river and it wasn't the last time we heard her. I called the game warden the next day to ask if it really was a cougar. He told us that it was a female that had that area in her range.

I wonder how or even if they retrain dogs to not signal when they smell weed in states where it is now legal????
When they legalized here they had to lay off all the drug sniffing dogs since they can't be retrained. They are supposed to be replaced with dogs that were never trained to smell weed

Idk CPD have mostly been cool about weed. There's a few bad eggs but they're a pretty decent group of people. Even smoking walking down the street as a teen they just kinda toss your stash give u shake around a little then cut you loose. Getting on the train reekin right next to the dog signaling at me and he was just like we ain't here for that man. I mean ive also had hot coffee splashed in my face and had my ballbag squeezed till my eyes popped out but that's cuz im a mouthy little shit
