It's usually a sign there's too much water in the soil that's allowing algae to grow.

You can scrape it off, I've also just read that sprinkling cinnamon on it will stop if from spreading.
I found algae on the bottom of my sprayer. I didn't see it till it was too late after I started using it. I have only been spraying the top with water. I gave it a little water thru the bottom the other day before I noticed it. I haven't watered in maybe 2 weeks cus I saturated the soil when I planted.

Try to get in the habit of letting her dry out between waterings. It’s better to water completely, then let her dry until the pot is light when picked up….then water again. Keeping the top moist will be like a bug magnet eventually. They don’t like dry soil….. just a thought, anyway :pass:
 
Happy Saturday all. Today is soil day! Potting (6) 5 gal fabric pots + 5 gal cedar box. Going to run autos in all. 3 outside, 3 garage tent (Autopots), 1 inside tent (Autipot). All los water only. Yikes.
