Harvest & Curing The Water Cure

Thanks fellas. After doing it this way I'll never make oil again without first water curing. I'm also looking at ways to better strain it. I've been using 150 line per inch silk screen. My future step son is getting me pieces of 3 more screens, up to 300 line per inch. I think with a finer screen more of the remaining vegetable matter can be removed, which should reduce the taste even more.

Great to hear mate. I love how we can get results in so fast!

I was going to give it a try on some ISO amber oil, i want to see if it effects the amount i would get. Taste and so on.

I wonder has anyone in the med community tried this for patients who complain about the taste of the meds. Might be a way to bland thing a bit without affecting the med effects.

I doubt I'm the first to think of this. LOL, I'm not that much of an original thinker!

Trying some amber would also be interesting. I expect you would be pleased with the results.

So I did a bit of a test:
1. I did some bud straight off plant to water for 7 day water cure.
2. I did a common dry to another bud and then put to 7 day water cure.

Left is Dry to Water. Right is Green to Water.

Differences:
Color- I tried to show in picture but the dry to water put on a much deeper brown. Whereas, the green to water held a deep green and some brown.

Smell- the Green to Water held more of it's fruit aroma. the Dry to Water brought on a new incense spice aroma that is not dominant in the other.

Both lost a lot of it's original smell straight from bud but when vaporized it is there.

Overall, I think I liked the Green to Water better. No wait time for a little dry and still hold a bit more of it's flavor but chlorophyll is still pulled out a lot.

Good thinking. Will have to give that a try myself.

The bud on the right looks better IMO!

I am going to try that as well.

I was amazed how nasty the water gets. Just think, you usually smoke all that.

The things you guys think of!:clap:

This is great information to know...can have the brownies now that taste 100% like brownies. I have to try this out...thanks alot

A few of us who defected here from another forum experimented with the water cure. our findings was while smoked it was a cleaner burn with a white ash left as waste. But what we found most appealing was the clean taste of canna oil and butter. Little to no taste with food cooked with oils and non detectible taste with canabutter cooked with sweets.
I know I will be using the water cure for oils and butters this year, but Im going to stick with a slow mason jar cure for the smokables.

Mushroom growers grow on moist grains, many will soak them for days at a time which can risk contamination. So many will change water everyday like the water curing, but some will put in additives like small amounts of bleach or antibacterial soap to stop growth. I think adding a bit of salt might be a better option here, or you could add small amounts of bleach and none on the last few days.

Hi
Just my little take on the water cure debate. I first used a water cure about 15-20 yrs ago and what I was told then before the outset of weed forums was that the water had to be quite warm when changed, not boiling but maybe 60 deg.
Years ago an old mate of mine was trying to get shot of old bud which was horrible-18 oz.
I took it all for a ton & water cured the lot-it changed the weed so much he could not believe the smoke or appearance were the same stuff.
It was decent kit -it just needed a wee "wash", I gave him a couple of oz back for nowt and had a nice long weed stash.
Once the water turns clear its done its job.
