Cannatrol Cool Cure

I’ll tell you this though, it says in the manual it can be used to dry hash.

Also, I dried some wet gummies (were in the freezer) and it dried them in just a few hours, and began to dehydrate them slightly (darker edges)…

I think it would work just fine to dry hash…:pass:
I hope to get 1 sometime in 2025... maybe lol.

Me too, but I'd like to become a hash rosin maker as well lol. All the best rosin I've seen has come from hash. So id like to give that a go. Made hash once, it was a fun process smelled wonderful! Let me know when you do your review.
So, here’s what I’ve been doing. I press my rosin eight days after harvest…as soon as the flower finishes a default setting cycle through the Cannatrol … pressed at 180f….

Love mine, and my receivers noticed the difference without me saying I've changed process.

I can fill this with one photo plant, so it does take a little planning if you have a few. More than once I've done the 4 day dry cycle, popped the buds into grove bags, and loaded in the new batch to dry.

The door doesn't appear to be easily swapped from right to left hinge pin.

The box has the hinge holes, but the door can't be flipped. If you were to 180⁰ flip the door, the lock would move to the top

I don't have a second unit, but it appears they aren't designed to stack.

Definitely worth it for me, it cost less than the value of one plant lost to rot.

I’ve had these units for a few months now, and have put them through their paces.

After several rounds of harvests, I must say, these are excellent quality, and work exactly as advertised.

A truly set it and forget it drying and curing system, these will give you excellent quality, perfectly dried and cured bud in as little as eight days (using the default settings). Denser buds benefit from an extra week in standby mode (which is what you’ll use for storage).

Simply wet trim your buds, fill the shelves and push start… except for keeping the sponge wet, and the drain tray emptied…the Cannatrol does the rest.

Customer service has been top notch, and shipping was fast.

A few things of note….
-The Cannatrol locks the terpenes within the trichomes. Meaning, the bud will smell less until you grind it….then you’ll be hit with an explosion of terpy goodness.
-My one complaint is the size. They could be bigger…. I require two for my needs (I store in one). According to the instructions, 2.2 pounds is the max amount of WET bud you should put in. I’ve done closer to three pounds with no problems… just mind the air flow.
-There’s a hidden, self diagnostic mode. I’ll eventually do a how to thread on troubleshooting.
-The unit picks up where it left off in the event of a power failure.
-Yes, it’s expensive. And well worth it in my opinion. Taking the guesswork out of the dry/cure process, and ensuring your hard work shines through in the end product is worth every penny, in my opinion.
-I spoke with the owner of the company, and he told me they sell replacement parts at cost, and support their customers in the event of a parts failure outside of the original warranty. They ship you new parts, and detailed instructions on installation, and will answer any questions during the process.

So, if you struggle with the dry/cure process for one reason or another….or want to eliminate the guesswork, stem snapping, jar burping etc…. Then the Cannatrol Cool Cure might be what you’re looking for.

Very interesting, thanks for the review. I definitely seems that the peeps behind this thing have produced a device that does a fine job.

Having said that, somewhat contrary to the hype on the Cannatrol site, if you control both temperature and RH, you are in fact controlling vapor pressure. There is no such thing as controlling, at a given temperature, vapor pressure without simultaneously controlling RH. Claiming that part of the magic of Cannatrol is because the machine measures vapor pressure rather than RH is misleading in my opinion. Any setup that controls both temperature and RH can achieve identical results to the Cannatrol.

This now has me thinking about DIY, again. I have an inkbird that controls RH and temperature. I have a veggie drier with shelves. I should be able to marry the two one way or another to be able to target the 68F and 60% that the inventor says is ideal to reach water activity of .6 (as I recall).

If I do it, I will post the results. Bottom line for me is that brown bag drying followed by Groves works too well already to justify the price of a Canatrol. Plus, I may be able to accomplish the same control with some DIY effort and stuff I already have on hand. Another head scratching project for the old fart. :pighug:

 You definitely have me wanting one now ! Very nice review, I struggle with drying and curing through the warmer months. I will have to put this on my list for next year now

That’s why I got them in the first place…. We’re very humid at times, very dry in others. This takes care of the issues.

Glad you enjoyed the review :d5: :pass:
