Harvest & Curing The Water Cure

I have some pics to get up of the progress. I've started to change the water twice a day. When i checked it yesterday morning, the water was cloudy and it had a funk to it.

It's better today so far.

I have a couple small nugs that will be ready to come out of the jar on monday. So i will have some idea how much i like this method.

If the buds don't burn, it's not going to get tried again. :D that was the reason for me trying it. I allready had buds that won't burn. So if i end up with no smell AND buds that don't burn.. that =''s a no go for me.

Yeah i was going to post some results. I'll post some pics here, when the jar's worth are dry.

The testers have already dried and been tested.

It did make the buds burn and clean, so it did pull out some ferts. But the bad flavor of un flushed buds is still there.

I'll have a final say on it once i try the other jar. But i am going to say that it isn't going to improve the flavor at all. Smokability, yes.. Still shite taste :D

But still could be good way for some fast bud with some cure flavor while waiting on others to dry cure :). Some may like the lighter side.
Really too bad it didn't help the flavor, maybe put it back in and run again and see what happens?

I am holding out hope for the big jar. The buds are actually still as aromatic as when they went in. So maybe some of the flavnoids are still intact.

I'm not writing it off totally.. It made pure black ash non burning weed into a nice white ash. So it has a purpose.

I have played a little with water curing some Top44 in the past, one thing I noticed was that it seemed best to keep the buds totally submerged and not have any floating at the top. My "floaters" jar made the buds feel slimey/mushy and I had to change the water more often, but in the end the result was the same.
What I did was held them down with a net pot (from my hydro setup) and kept the jar in a cool dark cupboard, changed the water every day for 7 days then dried.
The end result was a bland, tasteless smoke that had absolutely no smell at all when burning. I could have smoked it in front of the local cop shop without a problem!

great idea! could be scaled up easily too

Immediate visions of the "60 gallon french canna-press curing machine" lol

agreed it definetly increases covert abilities...

love the new sig... we have a saying... in our tight friend group... "The kinda guy you can call up and tell him to bring a shovel... and he will... no questions asked"
thats the type of friends we keep... :)

Ok guys.

Here is the final word on the water cure.

Air cured on the top, water cure on the bottom

The smell of the buds is still sort of there, if you don't let it completely dry out. It did clean the buds of fertalizer so it burt with a white ash. It didn't fully remove that over fertilized taste. But it is better than it was.

Where i see this being really usefull is in prepping un flushed buds for making ISO oil. If you use un flushed buds to make oil, you will pull out all those toxins as well. Since you don't get "much" flavor in oil any how i think this would work well for prepping buds for processing without having to wait for a full air cure.

My final word is it will never replace air cured buds. But the water cure does have it's place. It won't RUIN your buds but it will strip the flavor and smell from it very well.

Might be a method to use for some people.
