Harvest & Curing The Water Cure

So Tehece - you just soak the bud until the water turns clear or are you changing out the water on a regular basis?

Hi Dude
Sorry been so long getting back but I change the water every day around the same time & use 60-70 deg water temperature refills.
Just cured a bit bud that was very harsh-it does stone you but is so rough its hard to get a proper draw-until now-three days & presto clear water.

Could we sticky this for Curing as well? Maybe change Title or Salvage most informative info to a sticky article. There is great info on the Water Cure as well as Step by Step to Freezer cure.

Freezer Curing... This should be a thread!

Another method of curing is the freezer method - place your bud in a paperbag or breathable bag or cardboard box (I prefer using those compostable biobags inside of a cardboard box). Place the container in the freezer, let it sit in there for a few weeks. Bam! You're done. It's almost like forced freezer burn (moisture is drawn out by the cold temps). When I lived in Micronesia - this was the only way I could cured my bud without any risk of mold (relative humidity there is a constant 98-100% 24 hours/day, 365 days/year). I prefer freezer-cured over water-cured. Plus if you forget about it in the freezer - no sweat. If you forget about it in the water - big loss!

I am a few days from my first harvest and I am going to do this as my home is above my bread and breakfast and since I have more plants in my tent I can´t use my tent to dry and I have no idea how I can dry with out being very obvious of my sweet but smelly operation. QUESTION. can I chop and throw right in the freezer??? This is a curing method, not a drying method.... or does it work for both?

I've just finished my first water cure on some HBD and I'm super happy with the result. I used a food dehydrator the dry the buds and it took only 4 hours.

Nice tang!
What was your process?
How often did you change the water?

I used water that had been sat out to remove chlorine and fully submerged the weed. I changed the water twice a day for the first few days then once a day until the water was clear (6 days). I then took some of the water out of the weed by placing on kitchen towl then in a food dehydrator for 4hrs...done.

Thanks buddy.
I guess you knew it was ready when the water was clear?
Is the smoke smoother?

Smoke is smoother then anything you ever smoked. Both have there plus's and minues but air curing you do not remove everything..water curing you do.

Question, do the buds go straight into the water after chop & trim, or is it better to dry them for awhile?
