I've got some pumkins and squash started in 11 gallon pots, might try out the kiddie pool bottom feed for them

Honeynut Squash, Winter luxury, and New England sugar pie pumpkins popped up overnight. Gonna have to cull or tansplant a bunch, didn't expect all of them to make it

I'll second @WildBill 's endorsement of the Ardent FX. I have one also and I definitely picked WBs brain about using it. Totally worth the money.

@Zeromitch and @Bill.de.Cat - If you're thinking about getting an Ardent. Do it. You will not regret it.

We've been playing with gummy making lately. It is so easy to use the Ardent. Load in the flower, hit the decarb cycle, wait until it finishes, pour in the oil, hit the infuse cycle, wait until it finishes, pour, and use!

Do get the silicone sleeve. It makes pouring out the oil a lot easier. It just slips in and out of the machine. Their is very little smell when doing the decarb/infuse. If you are right near the machine you can tell but it does not eminate out through the room. I put a small weight on the top of mine to hold the lid a bit tighter. When you pop the top between cycles the scent does escape rapidly but it is far less than I would expect an oven to produce.

Being stealthy, quiet, and undetected is extremely important for me. If the Ardent was not as discreet as it is I could not recommend it to anyone who needs that. I have been pleasantly impressed. The finished material is a bit of trick to dispose of. It is also pretty potent, my patient has tried snacking on a bit of it. Heavy nap time ensued quickly.

Can you give a reader's digest version of bottom feeding for us unwashed masses? What medium does it use and what do you feed with?

Sub irrigated planter or SIP is bottom feed. It looks like he has cloth grow bags in kiddie pools and just adds water/feed to kiddie pool… unless he is in super soil or water only soil then only ph’d water. I prefer this method as it is easy ( or I’m lazy) and the plant will only uptake the water it needs.

Well the testing went really really well. I got really really relaxed and took a short nap!

OOOHHH!!!! That's what SIP means. I kept asking myself "Is that really just watering from the pan?" OK. That's actually not far off from what I currently do, but still materially different. I have organic composting soil (not quite super because I keep having to add FF nutes) and I water from the top, but I water until the whole bag is pretty darn wet (a gallon for a 3 gallon bag). Each bag sits in a deep pan and I let the water come out the bottom because it will suck it back in within a few hours. I worried that if I just fed from below, I'd end up with a bag of muddy root rot. I'll look into it further to see what'll work for me.

Thanks!
