Indoor 1Sky's Mephisto, COB (Amare) & Fastbuds GrowBattles: BioTabs vs Adv Nutes & AutoPots vs FiberPots

Yipes, Its been over two weeks since I've posted any updates on the grow. Sorry 'bout dat. Keeping up-to-date on posting weekly updates from this grow on the 3 GrowBattle threads (COB, Mephisto & Fastbuds) has really diverted my attention & time. But the GrowBattles are now closed, so I'm coming back here to chronicle the final stages of this grow and to share insights and interesting outcomes from running the same stain under different media and nutrient programs.

At day 85, here's a look at the three Mephisto Creme Bubblys. The first one is the AutoPot Biotabs. She's had no amendments or treatments since a doze of Molassas and Cal-Mag about 30 days ago. That seemed to help with the deficiency that was showing then. She's ripening up beautifully and eating up her leaves, but the trichs haven't turned yet.

And here's her AutoPot sister, but under the Advanced Nutrients + GreenPlanet Nutrients program (AN/GP). This one seems to be running more slowly. She is 3 inches taller than the Biotabs Creme Bubbly, but her buds are not as plentiful nor as well developed. And her leaves have been quite yellowed out for several weeks.

Then the surprise. The 3rd Creme Bubby, who is also on the AN/GP program and at 85 days, is an absolute beast. She's in a fiber pot, that's the only difference. She is at least 30-35% taller and wider than her two sisters, and, as you can see below, has impressive bud development. Her leaves are not being consumed yet, and her trichs as mostly still clear. I love her.

I'm at a loss to explain the difference between these three versions of Creme Bubbly. But I'm enjoying the show.

I'm also running Mephisto Sour Crinkles three ways: 1 in Autopot on Biotabs, 1 in AutoPot on AN/GP feed, and 1 in fiberpot on AN/GP feed. All photos below are at day 85. Here is the Biotabs girl in the Autopot. She is maturing nicely, starting to eat her leaves. She is not particularly bushy, but definitely has the thick, dense buds typical of Sour Crinkle.

Then here is her tent-mate, the AutoPot Sour Crinkle on the AN/GP program. Shorter and more dense. But what looks like a deficiency problem starting to develop on the lower leaves. At this late stage in her development, I'm not sure if I want to try to do anything about it. I'm more concerned about bud-rot given her denseness. So she's got a small overhead fan blowing gently down on her. She's in the final phase of the AN/GP program now -- 3 days Herculean Harvest followed by 1 day of Dense.

And finally the 3rd Sour Crinkle, the one in the fiberpot on the same AN/GP feed schedule. She is the largest and healthiest of the three. No deficiencies. Maturing nicely but still needs to amber-up on the trichs.

To finish up the Day-85 updates, here's a look at the two strains I grew for the Fastbuds GrowBattle. Both are in fiberpots and on the AN/GP feed program. LSD-25 bearly made it out of the nursery, and has always remained a skimpy runt. But I kept her alive 'cause I was curious to see what the smoke is like. I love how she has "purpled-up" in these final phases.

Then my pride and joy, the lovely miss Blackberry, who's trolling for votes starting this week in the Fastbuds contest.

That concludes my day 85 update. These shots were all taken about a week ago. So you can expect another update later this week, especially since many of these plants are approaching the chopping block soon.

Thanks for looking. Happy growing. :smokeout:

I would say your grow shows that fabric pots are a must! Lol!!!! Dude, that third creme bubbly is amazing and some sight to see! WoW! Your whole grow is awesome! What are your findings doing all these experiments?? Do you like certain nutes vs others.. etc..?

I'll try to summarize findings & opinions once the harvests have happened. But for now, I'd say you're right, that the fiber pots are doing better than the autopots, regardless of what nute program I'm using in the autopots. THis is only my 2nd grow with autopots, so I'm thinking that maybe I just don't have it "dialed in" right yet. I got the same results between the AutoPot vs Fiberpots on my first grow with them as well (June-Aug) - but that one was only Biotabs in Autopots vs AN/GP nutes in the fiberpots. I'm not ready to give up on any of these methods yet --- after all, I've seen some amazing grows here on AFN from AutoPots both with and without organics. So go figure ???

that blackberry looks yummy, i grew c4 from fastbuds turned out purple but nothing like the darkness of that
Hi Aspirin, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I tried to include an FB C4 in this grow as well, but the germination failed. I have one seed left of C4, so I'm interested to try again, and also 1 more of the LSD, which clearly needs another try to redeem itself. What was your experience with the C4? Any tips or advice? Do you recall the results in terms of plant size, yield or potency?
