YCM is unmistakable! Enjoy!

Last post was last Wednesday, and the typhoon came down that night and Thursday.
It was a monster this time, and my area around has a lot of big trees down, that iron fence is all smashed up, we last power and internet on Thursday night, and there was a fair amount of rain but not huge.
Luckily it passed fast, and Friday was just a cloudy day with a drop of rain.
That wind was fierce!

Then I got sick again, and have been in the hospital since the weekend.
That's why I haven't posted for a while, cause the internet here is filtered, haha!
I'll be here for a while longer, too.

Was worried about the plants, in the semi-dark, and while it's not hot, after a while they'll still need watering.
Found out it's possible to get 'leave' from the hospital (I had other things I needed to do, too).
So managed to get to the garden yesterday (Monday) and pull them out, plus a quick water.
I couldn't put all the ropes back, so there's just one guiding rope on the south,
and they're all kind of hanging over that for now.

This is a rough update, with three quick pics.

Spring-Summer Grow -- Maria's Haze Heaven Hacienda!

Day 230: 135V + 95F

Wow, day 95 flower already, is ... 13.5 weeks for the Grail x ThaiFrican, and maybe 12.5 weeks for the other girls -- SSSTN and the Grail.
They are hitting the harvest window.
Haven't had any time at all to prep my hangers, but it won't take much.
Whereas before I was planning for several big plants, now the volume of flower is much less.

Super Silver Sour Thai Nevilles
PXL_20241104_083439046.jpg

This is 'Sticky', no pic of 'Fluffy' who looks similar, just a bit slimmer.
Weird, how did that happen? Last time 'Fluffy' had big puffy rounded buds, now she's skinnier?!?!
Just these two main colas -- one each, but they are a decent size at least.

Grail (fast pheno) x ThaiFrican
PXL_20241104_083509199.jpg

This is a cola at the back, she still has a few more, plus that damaged main cola that's still hanging in there (and almost hanging down to the ground...)

Grail (NLD pheno)
PXL_20241104_083452713(1).jpg

The Grail buds got quite full in shape in the end.
And this girl has a number of colas like this one here, plus little ones everywhere, too.

These poor plants, they look like they've been to hell and back!
As I said earlier, their calyx growth is strange, all very small.
But I can see the trichome development is still there.
I'm just going to let them roll along for now, they still have some growing in them, as you can see.

Seven SSSTN (Sticky) x ThaiFrican
Meanwhile, the little SSSTN (Sticky) x ThaiFrican seed-stock plants look so cool!
Yes, they're all so small, as expected, but their flower growth looks normal (compared to the big girls).
And they all look like they have some serious stickiness to them.
The 'Pearl' pheno is branching off everywhere like crazy, a couple are quite tight (for hazy sativas), and a couple are in-between, one is looking haggard, with one getting a fair bit bigger and slower.
So there's going to be some nice flower from these girls too.
Just such a pity I had seven/seven girls from those seeds, and not one boy for pollen...

I will just have to try again next round!

Peace and Love,
~MJS

I'm not sure on the ratios but it does also do quite well with the dry sift carting so I would imagine it would also do well with dry ice. I haven't used dry ice in years, they use to carry it right in the grocery store but when it went rec they pulled it out of all the stores and now you have to get it through a gas company by order for some stupid reason in my area.

Have you checked welding supply places? I saw someone post about it like a year ago or so.

I get mine from ice houses but there are only a few that carry the dry ice. It's a nice processing tool if you have some frosty bud to break down.

I've already gone through 4 pairs of scissors this season, damn springs and the replacement springs last even shorter of a duration. Luckily I'm ambidextrous n use both hands to trim. Not at the same time obviously but it's handy when one hand need a rest might be why I blow through the springs so fast.
Jean, have you tried Chikamasa brand trimmers? I won't use anything else now, they are that superior! The Fluorine coated models are excellent, and there are straight, angled and curved style blades available, plus the finer duty angled one that @MasonJarOG showed a while back that have blue handles; these have even thinner blades for fine work or reaching tough snips -
I now have all 3 blade types, bought the curved and fine-trim ones this year, and have found them all to be the right tool for the right job perfect!
The sharpness and durability of the blades is a big plus too, like no others...

:smokeout:-- Hi gang, trying to get caught up here.... :rolleyes2: ...we are technically done, so let's see where things are at now....

Doesn't have the rounded shape like first time.
I think that was a response to the then-increasing light cycles.
Now she's more like a slimmer finer version of Sticky.
:bighug:Maria luv, I'm rowing through replies now, but I think you have finished one way or 'nother?
Yeah, this was my worry, that you're in the other hemisphere and are getting light increases now...
I think I'm gonna veg just long enough to get a really good root system established and then flip probably about two weeks at the most, maybe three in a very large pot!
Just continue to ramp up the lights until they hit the max and that could be higher with CO2 augmentation. That could roughly take a month off the entire grow. I really think the only downside would be a limited time frame in which you could take clones so that you wouldn't have to go through a re-veg with the clones.
Trust me Bill, this is not a generally wise strategy for many true NLD types, particularly ones with a lot of landrace/heirloom lineage. It will depend a great deal on what cultivar/cross you chose, and the pheno' spread. Some of them do not like light blasting, and in bloom, many of the master NLD growers I know run under 12/12, 10/14 is common... Photonic blasting doesn't bring out the best in them.

They (landrace/heirlooms) just don't behave in a typical manner generally speaking, so whatever you chose do your homework! I recommend ACE seeds, they have solid genetics and good grow info in their descriptions, and many come in fem' format -
Check their site out for sure! I think Golden Tiger could be a fine choice, reports on this girl are glowing...but the high is very psychotropic which comes from the New Malawi Killer side....

I gather it's the unique quality of the high you're after? It's the #1 reason I see stated by the NLD guru growers who grow them, nothing else will do, and it still is a pheno' fortune thing to some degree.
You saw the Destroyer pearl pheno pics I posted a while back by a mate at another site? That special one shook out after 2-3 runs of plants to find the One that checked all the boxes, but he is a bit extreme as an example... But now he has a "grail" level cut, doesn't care that it's a 15 week bloomer! ...even other pheno's of the same don't compare... :zen:

Killer A5Haze is notorious; Malawi will straight-up scare most people; New Caledonia has shown very well (regs only); Zamadelica is beloved too... Anyway, lots of others so have a look! The high qualities are very different among them, and BTW Malawi has a rep' for causing freak-outs with lightweights/inexperienced NLD tokers. I grew a cross of it a few years back, Killer Orange, and several friends found it overwhelming and not-so-fun (the pheno's I got were totally Malawi-dom', not a hint of Orange Cookies in them)....
Panama has a good rep for smooth easy dreamy sailing...
Still traveling
:yay: I'm envious! ...Malta intrigues me, my bro' did that 23&Me genetic test thing and we came out with 10% Maltan in us - 🧐 LOL

Last update most likely on Snow G... been cutting off a branch or four every other day or so due to BR. This pheno didn't flip as early as the other i grew, and definitely didn't finish as fast, as it has yet to finish. Oh well... so here's a pic of what is left of her.
Bad pheno luck mate, at least not a total loss...😬 ...I'm see if I can get you something I KNOW is super fast and good... like that GhostMaverick x 3BearsOG that finished first for me, maybe the UltraEarlyLove too...
At least the GPF1FV came through! What's her aroma like? ...I'm seeing good reports about the KillerKushFV from guerilla growers in shite climates too....

Wow, yet another blaster! You're right, it's not been the best conditions this season, and buds may not be what they usually are but that they are still around at all is damn impressive- :clapper::clapper::clapper: -- Urban guerilla skillz and diligence for the Win!

That would be awesome :toke: jus a sec.. i'll twist one up...ok..a bit gassy with an overlay of tangy ...nothing standing out for me in the flavor or aroma. Wasn't very strong smelling while growing either ..:shrug:Me senses of smell an taste aren't wat they used to be either :smokeit:

Yeah, I think my light blasting later in flower caused the big girl, in a little bit to some extent the smaller ones,, to foxtail quite a bit. I really don't think so in veg.

This Asian haze that is just out of a hair over 4 day dry in the Cannatrol is insanely smooth, regardless of the short dry. I think it's pretty much like a regular 14 day dry. I ground up a bud and was very pleasantly pleased with the consistency. Rolling a joint would have been really easy. But I tested it out with my sort of fat one hitter. Beautiful ash, extremely smooth and best of all very potent. I smoked a loosely packed one hitter and I was really surprised. I was definitely getting that 70s South American high feeling.............................. So I loaded it up again! :eyebrows:  :haha:
Oh, it was definitely a head high! Very cerebral and that bud always affects my auditory part of my brain. Tripping pretty hard with the movie that I was watching. It was one of those dark ones, not what I was expecting when I loaded it up. It was pretty twisty and that was what kept me watching it when the amount of focus I had was letting me pick out all the screw ups they did, visually and conceptually.:face::haha::haha:

No way you could tell that weed was dried that quick! Since the big girl gets chopped tomorrow, what's in the Cannatrol will get another day of curing before it goes into Grove bags to finish out the curing . After 24 hours after chopping, all the buds will get bucked off. Anything over 2 lbs wet caramel will get froze. Already have two very stuffed gallon bags of her. I'll imagine I'll have another!
I didn't squish any of Asian haze. Definitely gonna do it on this one!

Hey, @Waira,

Are you tallying up for the end of the comp?
No, apart from that big juicy lower cola on the Grail x ThaiFrican that was broken off and I bagged to dry,
everything else is still on the plants, rocking in for their last week (or two, or three???)

I'm northern hemisphere, it's not the hemisphere issue, it's that I'm running 12-16 week sativas, that don't start flowering until early to mid August!! haha!!

Blaster is not the word, it's been an absolute killer year and run for me this time.
Really exhausted, but seeing the end in sight, once I get out of hospital and on my feet again.

Even if I have nothing to show for the comp, it's always a blast running with the big dawgs, hehe.
And I'll have my jars full in due course, with some very special sativa and haze flower, that you just don't see much of, to be honest.

Will keep updating here, so please don't lock the thread!

Big fan of the chikamasa straight blade. Almost 4 years old and still crazy sharp. I've definitely cut myself pretty good with them

I use these and also the angled version with the dark handle. Love um and no springs. Clean with alcohol and a sharp blade to get the scissor hash.
