Where the seed naturally cracks, a light sanding along that seam allows the seed to crack more easily!Please explain further that seam sanding?
The seam can also be scraped with a scalpel.
Doing this also removes some of the seed coat allowing the seed yo absorb water more easily.
Scarification can also be used. Put a small piece of sand paper in a match box, put in seeds, close match box and shake.
This will scratch the seed coat allowing for water to be absorbed better.
If someone was making seeds, something to remember is don't feed the plant too much or you will get very hard seed casings, which are difficult for the seedling to break out off and you could get a tiny stalk with a seed shell helmet which won't shift!
