Indoor Testing the eazyplug pyramid mini.

You guys have inspired me to try this out! Awesome looking plants and seems so simple which i love. Ill be getting everything within the next month for sure. @The Iconoclast just made it through your thread and will be following along. Appreciate the effort you put into it!

@RootBound420 cheers for that glad you like it. I actually find it no effort at all sharing knowledge, especially hands on knowledge that's new and exciting. I'm really looking forward to seeing other grows. Although I do find it tiresome to plow through the trolls on the Trollitup forum, but it's quietened down now that I went on a blocking frenzy a while back.

@DCLXVI I think the eazyplug people don't care about the weed market, they could if they wished really shake things up.

This morning I noticed a heavily furry root poke out from my Jack47 in the cube, which is like a solo cup. The root is completely covered, however when I watered the plug I notice that all the superfine fuzz was washed away. This is why I think these plugs produce such high quality in a small space. Just a bit of water tricking past wiped ALL the hairs off the root. So in soil, every time the bag moves or water flows through it's going to do damage to the business end of the roots. And that to me is a satisfying explanation of what makes this so good and why there's nothing else like it. To make up for the damage that normal soil in fabric bags does, the root mass has to be at least 4 times the size.

Yeah weed market is tiny compared to agricultural one

I used to throw my nutes out every couple of weeks now I use all that I mix, so I have noticed a considerable drop in nute use, but separate to that, I still don't see how it is any different in cost. Like the large pyramid is 16 bucks in the states, and like what is the cost of a 5 gal grow bag with good quality soil? There's can't be but pennies difference. I'm not trying to spruik the pyramid like a fanboy (which I am), I'm just wondering how people come to the conclusion that there's something expensive about it.

at least it becomes inexpensive it you take the timesaving and easyness into account.

atm I can only say, I mixed my feed exactly to the needs (npk ratios i learned a long ago), upped and downed like i would have in dwc and I kept 200ml to none runoff (that I let stand in there and which is very fast gone - very little to no waste).
If you may compare it to soil, it may be more expensive, if you reuse all your pots and if you are a pro like MoG mossy or blue of go whith a perfect living soil.

If you compare it to a dwc, ebb/flow or hydro setup, you definitely have some benefits that will "reduce" the price.
Next grow i have to start with a complete "new" fertilizer, because i stick to mine, which completely "messed up" their ratios now.
It will be interesting how they will work out with them, because I'm unable to get to my old target values which them - theres always an excess in some way, at least on the paper.

I'm not a fanboy, but I'm impressed and will go further in.
Perhaps just watch and let the things play out.

@kfigerm, yes, they definitely encourage testing. While I've had some recent problems trying to grow two beans that start off the same, I nevertheless am going to persevere with what new tests I am able to do. Right now I have a seedsman northern lights which was growing well, I did a late topping at day 23, and then I did something that I'd never normally do if this was a full sized hydro grow, the next day I cut off both sets of top fan leaves. northernlights - 1.jpegnorthernlights - 2.jpegnorthernlights - 3.jpeg

I have a bro science theory that the fan leaves' job is to power up the root manufacturing process for later, and it just looks really bad as well as obviously unnecessary, so now I get to see what happens to a late topped bean with an over defoliation but with an already well developed root structure. So chopping these leaves off in my opinion is not a good idea, but I did it anyway in the name of bro science. As you suggest I think there's more to be discovered.

I have begun to pay more attention to watering now, I am going to keep the plugs a little drier to try and allow more fuzz to develop on the internal roots.

With considerable difficulty I did manage to pull the Jedi Kush apart to some extent.Jedi - 1 (1).jpegJedi - 2 (1).jpeg this could go for another 4 weeks at this rate.

And I am letting the gorilla cookies run much longer than I could normally I'm going to see if I can go another week and get more cloudy trichomes.

Tree trunks!!! Lovely grow guys clearly pyramids are a go to

it's nice to see another ultimate fly in the pyramid. How is your feed schedule?
That's fantastic, It makes me happy to see other autos in one of these small pyramids. They look pretty good, please keep up updated especially the auto ultimate in the mini. Isn't it fun to twirl them around.

Hey Guys.

Iconoclast, I believe I am now one of your favorite fans. I truly love your pyramids. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I feed them twice a day, once in the morning before work and then again when I get home in the evening. I place the pyramid on a BBQ grid over a bucket and pour the nutes over the pyramid into the bucket below. I pour back and forth two or three times. This way they get a nice flush as to avoid any build up of salt etc. My pink Kush is at 600ppm GH Trio and the Ultimate's are at 800ppm GH Trio. Always PH'd at 6.

I'm about to plant 9 mini pyramids in a grow tent with a 9 outlet hose system as to automate the watering process. I'm excited about this project.

I have one Pink Kush CBD 30:1 in a pyramid and the other has just sprouted in a 25 liter air-pot. Its going to be fascinating to see the difference between the two.

I'm experimenting, see pic below: One ultimate in a large pyramid and one in a mini pyramid. The left Ultimate in the large pyramid is tall...the right Ultimate in the mini pyramid is short and compact.

My Pink Kush CBD 30:1 is such a beautiful plant. Its amazing to look at.

Also Pink Kush CBD 30:1 25 liter air-pot. I cant wait for the results and side by side pyramid comparison.

My previous grow was an extremely complex fully automated High Pressure Aeroponic system which yielded amazing results.
