Indoor Testing the eazyplug pyramid mini.

they are prebuffered to ~5.8, so go with that @The Iconoclast didn't adjust, and it went well also so far as I read.
Go and try. I would always use an EC and PH meter, just to dial in the nutes, and save money over time.
I don't reccomend any brand, and cannot, because the ones I use atm have another formula now, and I'm not sure if I stick with them. Also don't know where I am heading.
I like trios that i can mix the lucas formula way to get to my NPK.

@BarelyMillennial, welcome to the thread and the forum, I find that the pyramids don't drift and I rarely adjust anything especially as I'm always mixing up small 9L fresh buckets. I also use the drops, I don't think it matter much what the pH is as long as it's around 6, I think any quality nutes will be fine because lets face it, they're all the same thing, and the pyramids do such a good job with the roots. I use a standard micro grow bloom, but I don't think it really matters all that much. Later on when if I get two beans that look the same I might do a side by side using a single mix nute the whole way through. Yeah I reckon you could do without an EC/ppm meter but they're cheap and handy to check things.

@The Iconoclast - jep that will be a real nice challenge. I don't think there's one more "standardized" medium than this. Based on the pyramids - given they have a good quality control, it could be possible to really test nutes, grow techniques and many things, because theres not so much else a grower can do wrong with them on the feeding side.
No fast PH swing like in any dwc/hydro setup, no hard to recover soil-PH-swing, (nearly) no overfeeding if halfway sensible and no overwatering. Just keep them moist enough and chill. Pour in PH'd nutes at "advertised" or to be tested scedule and see what happens.
In my tent they'll have a bright future, doing some tests for sure.
Except one thing...actually all the above...there's no excitement - still not - about what could go wrong.
Only the ultimate that grew so fast, showed me some Cal def, which I simply resolved by putting more tap-water in the mix and give an appropriate Mg ontop to keep Cal/mg in balance. Nothing exceptional to mention with all other plants yet.
Boooooring.

@kfigerm, this is the kinda boring I like ;¬) But what these pyramids have revealed to me is the incredible variation that is more common than I thought, I rarely grew two beans of the same strain at the same time and the couple I did were quite different now I am realising that what I may have seen as a poor performance that I could not work out, I now see what likely to be the bean itself. Like again look at these two Cheese from Philosopher Seeds, I could see within a day or two that one was a problem, now look, one of them is looking normal with large dark green vibrant leaves and plenty of strong growth, and the other one I could not top it was so weak looking, now it's keeping up regarding height, but she's light green and doesn't look like a big performer. cheese - 1.jpeg

The good thing is that when I get a bean like that now it's not that much of a deal if it was in a 20L hydro set up and it's like four weeks in and she's no good then that is a bit stressful. So I might just keep planting two at a time now and do some sort of side by side if I ever get two beans that look the same!

Here's the jack 47 in a 3" cube, will be interesting to see how this one pans out. cube - 1.jpeg

And I have to put in a full sized whore shot of Jack47XL because I'm still riding this one to the finish line...

@potato, thx :¬) the cheeses are coming though, in fact here's a cheesy update

18-7 - 5.jpeg

Both phenotypes have developed as expected one weak and one strong. Also that is the Jack47 in a mini cube in the front

Not much visible root mass of recently chopped Jack47XL 18-7 - 1.jpeg

which surprised with an astounding 120g just beating out the last Amnesia for my biggest mini pyramid haul yet, but this is better quality weed than the Amnesia, The Jack is skunky and spicy with no diesel or pine, very easy to smoke absolutely packed with resin an outstanding bean in every regard, this has shot to the top of my all time favourite autos. Over 4 zip of the finest top shelf weed from a one litre plug on a saucer, I am loving this new life life, currently have 6 different strains to sample which is unheard of for me.

18-7 - 1 (2).jpegjack trichome3.jpgjack trichome4.jpg

Here's the replacement Gorilla Cookies still can't tell if it's the same strain yet18-7 - 2.jpeg

And finally there's the big girl Jedi Kush, she was around the same development as Gorilla Cookies but that one is chunked out but the Jedi is just getting very fluffy, not a lot of trichomes visible yet. Overall the plant doesn't look anything like a Jedi Kush, she is so short and the buds are so chunky and fat. At least the branches have a bit of chewy texture so i can bend them without snapping, but no easily. Both Gorilla Cookies and particularly the Jedi have gone purple black with the cold.

I love your pyramids. Here is my Pink CBD 30:1 and Auto Ultimate.

That's fantastic, It makes me happy to see other autos in one of these small pyramids. They look pretty good, please keep up updated especially the auto ultimate in the mini. Isn't it fun to twirl them around.

Gorilla Cookies is close to done, but the Jedi Kush in the big pyramid looks like she's going to go go a fair while longer, she has stayed small but the buds are looking to be very very fat, totally unlike previous Jedi's I've grown, I'll see if I can dig out a comparison.

Here's a video of the replacement Gorilla Cookies,

This is how Jedi Kush comes out for me normally, small tight juicy buds jedi - 1.jpeg

But this is Jedi Kush in the big pyramid. jedi - 2.jpegjedi - 3.jpegjedi - 4.jpegjedi - 5.jpeg

This is the auto Stilton, sort of a cheezy pyramid. jedi - 6.jpeg

And in this group shot is Gorilla Cookies at the back, a Jack 47 in a 2.5 inch cube, the other ratty looking cheese, and a Gorilla Glue #4 from Expert Seeds in the front.

Wow, that Jedi Kush in the big block. Gorgeous plant. I love that side shot where you can see the block, pyramid, and the stalk coming up.

This one: A few solo shots of this one and that pyramid company should send you a few free ones. That is magazine worthy.

@DCLXVI I think the eazyplug people don't care about the weed market, they could if they wished really shake things up.

This morning I noticed a heavily furry root poke out from my Jack47 in the cube, which is like a solo cup. The root is completely covered, however when I watered the plug I notice that all the superfine fuzz was washed away. This is why I think these plugs produce such high quality in a small space. Just a bit of water tricking past wiped ALL the hairs off the root. So in soil, every time the bag moves or water flows through it's going to do damage to the business end of the roots. And that to me is a satisfying explanation of what makes this so good and why there's nothing else like it. To make up for the damage that normal soil in fabric bags does, the root mass has to be at least 4 times the size.
