I read somewhere that fimming or topping twice is the same as mainlining but quicker

Mainlining is much easier to do with photos, since you can control how long you veg them, but it's still possible with autos. The below girl has been mainlined to 8 tops. The plant does respond by delaying flowering some, but again, it comes down to what you're trying to achieve.

For a "true" mainline, you would be topping 3 times. The girl above, that's what I did. The below, I did the topping x3 plus extensive LST to achieve a more traditional mainline.
