I just keep a piece of 1/4 aluminum plate in the freezer. It works fine, but does need refreezing if doing a lot of pressing. @Mañ'O'Green uses a cast iron gym weight for the same idea. You don't need machinery, just something that can be frozen and has some weight to it.

Here's some liquid lunch for @420Forever cannabutter for brownies

I used to throw a frying pan in the freezer to use as a cold plate for rosin. Use the flat underside for scraping
