Yeah...if only teachers wern't so rigid in their teaching......I failed basic algebra cause I would put the damn letters in there cause it confused me.
The thing now is that information is everywhere, so what really needs to be taught is the process of filtering out all the bullshit and learning what is real information and applying that. When most of us grew up we had to figure out the solution to a problem. Now things are googled and that's just the way it is and the way it's really going to be... So the learning now needs to be focused on filtering out the bullshit
Teaching critical thinking is so damn important. But public school is all about conditioning kids to be workers, to not question authority, and to spend most of their life doing things they don't enjoy. All to prepare them for being miserable adults who spend all their time working and barely scraping by so the people with all the money can continue to exploit the working class. So glad we can have our kids in a private school that focuses on teaching kids how to learn, think for themselves, and work collaboratively to solve problems.
