Anyone keep lizards in their indoor grows for pest control? Wondering how it works out. I had a small one but apparently stepped on him in the dark

We always had a bunch of geckos in the house in Hawaii. Didn't grow indoors then, but all the house plants were fine. Symbol of good luck as well

Good Morfnoevight All you happy Hump Day Stoners.

I know we have some in LS that do an alcohol extraction. Do you have a link to what you do? I want simple as possible and most preservative method.
I want to make some stout stuff!
I have a very old friend in need. From what I gather, things aren't too bright for her. I reached out to her sister and family. They say she's having problems with pain and no appetite.
I have a sizable stash, but I'm not wasteful. I wanna make a test run with 2-4 zips

@WildBill I make QWET and LWET all of the time. The first strong opinion I have is NEVER ever use Isopropyl Alcohol it is poison 2022-08-16_22-31-52 (1).png

Once you put it in your cannabis you can never get it all back out. Use Ethanol, yes it is still poisonous but not as bad as ISO or any of the other common solvents.

The next thing is the more pure and the colder the ethanol the cleaner the extraction will be. If you can buy EverClear where you live this is the easiest. Put the EverClear in the freezer and your good quality cannabis in a mason jar in the freezer overnight. Next poor the ethanol over the buds and give a gentle shake for 15 seconds and strain off the ethanol. This is QWET - Quick Wash EThanol. For a long wash just pour the Everclear over some buds and let it sit a day or two at room temperature. This is LWET. The process is the same after the wash. You just need to evaporate off the ethanol. You can let it sit out but that will take a long time. Because Ethanol is flammable and the vapors are heavier than air they can pool and become explosive so do your evaporation outdoors. You can use any heat source that does not have an open flame. A rice cooker is one of the tools I have and use. Run it at about 180°F to boil off the ethanol. QWET if done cold and fast will be fairly palatable. LWET tastes absolutely horrible. I have added terpenes to help the flavor but it still ain't good. Decarb takes place some in the evaporation process but I decarb at 252°F for 20 minutes. after the evaporation process.

We cannot get EverClear here I California. I buy Cheap vodka 1.75L for $9. I get two of them and distill it down to about 185 Proof ~90% ethanol in this, the yield is about 1l for $18:

Then when I do the evaporation of the wash I do it in here first and get back a little more than half of the ethanol before I put the remaining wash in the rice cooker to finish the evaporation.

Do you Have a rosin press? You can press rosin and decarb with a little bit of MCT to make a seriously strong extraction with less tools.

You know, you could always make bubble hash and dissolve that into the alcohol, or even some type of fat….
Yeah, I've done that before. to make some oil. After getting something to really utilize the rosin, That and making temple balls is what I'll do with the hash.

Using 99% Isopropyl is perfectly safe. Less than will likely contain unwanted additives that are usually toxic. The end product is much better IMO

I've been through a storm with larger than baseball size hail. We get hail like that all the time in Oklahoma. It destroys anything it hits.
Those would do a number on things like vehicles, solar panels and the like. Maybe even roofing. I'm glad to take a miss. :eek1:

Hubby has yet to find a way to break the silicone one I got him ages ago lol
give him time - maybe driving over it would crease it... :crying:

Oh yes it absolutely totals cars, destroys roofs and I have even heard of it going thru the roof of houses! We've even had softball size hail too! But it is rare.

#SloJoe @Talonxracer .......?.................:pass:....I had problems getting hubby outta bed this morning....I Think he needs a certain light hours before he functions...

But it was 40C in the shade at noon...and they are working in the open in the garden.....so it Has to be done early......
been wondering if you were still being roasted over there. Your weather makes our 30C stuff seem pretty tame, but 30C is still too much for enjoying outside stuff, especially any kind of vigorous activity.

Stay cool @Mossy.

Good info! Would decarbing the flower before infusion harm anything?
