It's easy to see the growth on this GB from day to day. Everything seems dialed in at this point. Now, it's like she is on automatic pilot; a handful of dry ferts once a month, and 32oz rain water twice daily. Once a week, I do add fish emulsion at 600 ppm, and kelp/humic/fulvic acid mix at 1/2 tsp per gallon. I switched my mix a bit. Been running coco/perlite at 50/50 for a couple years now. With this grow, I added pine bark, and mixed everything in equal parts. I always add dry organic bloom ferts to bottom third of container, and ewc and dolomite lime to entire container. Now, I can feed them without ph'ing a thing, like soil, and water them every day, like hydro. So far so good! Even with my original 50/50 mix, I still added the amendments and the plants stayed green, even through flush.

A couple pics right before lights out yesterday. Had to get in a quick defol, that is why I didn't have time to adjust lighting. Just for reference, I am 6' 2" tall, and weigh 220 pounds. These leaves are just HUGE!

After defoliation.

This was Saturday night. She will be covered up again by Tuesday! :woohoo:

I wasn't going to post again until Tuesday, but just watered the ladies, and this is what the Glueberry looks like with only 14 hours since defoliation.

And this is the Cindy Jack. No defol yet.

These things are really on the move now! I will try to post more often, to get as close to day by day, or at least an every other day account. With the GB, all I did was open up the canopy more. You can tell in the second pic, because you see more stem, due to it being a little more horizontal. The CJ got it's first round of lst. I also grab each branch where it goes into the meristem, and smash it with my finger tips, from the base of the stem, up to about 2" from the base. This gives you increased girth where you pinch it, and the branch will support a lot more weight in flower. The branching on CJ really surprised me, especially considering that I had equipment malfunction early in her seedling stage. She has surely made a full recovery.

@DutchPassionTony , you guys are killing the genetics over there; both auto and photo strains. Keep up the good work, brother.

These are before and after shots, all taken within 30 minutes of each other.

Good growing everyone. :jointman:

This thread is evolving a bit. Can you say, "MASSIVE DEFOL?". Keep in mind that I have now defoliated this plant twice in 3 days!!! I have always defoliated, just not this aggressively; even back in the early 80s when I started outside. We ordered, "The Weed Growers Bible" pamphlet, not book, read the whole 30 or so pages 3 times, and off to the races we went! Back then, no one was advising either for, or against defol, because that was not a thing, and neither was the internet. We were too botanically ignorant to have the slightest clue that it might be harmful to the plant. We just saw that our 7-8' tall plants were not getting sun deep inside the canopy. We just took the large, hand sized leaves out of the way on a periodic basis. I have compared with and without defoliating to many times, and I always harvest more this way. Indoors, I wouldn't go any other route.

For those that might not agree with this technique, I do NOT want to turn this into ANY type of debate on defol. I have seen countless threads go to shit over this subject. I was just giving background on my experience and why I do this. I have already grown enough to know who I am as a grower. I want to keep the focus on how AWESOME Dutch Passion's genetics are, and how nice it is to have a breeder that delivers as advertised.

Now, Ms.Twiggy.

I never pay much attention to my avatar. I see that My likes and rep are moving on up. Thank you to all that have contributed, and to all that have just stopped by. I appreciate the interest. Keep on growing, brothers and sisters.

Keep up the good posts, and the fantastic outside of the box growing. I have done selective defoliation on autos, just not as vigorous as you are doing, but i have done experiments on outdoor photos with defoliation and had great success.

Shit seriously bud....i would rep you again if i could, those plants are really looking A-1. Funny....almost the same techniques you and I across the board, just small variations.

Thank you for that 912. Yeah man, when I saw those bending techniques applied to an outside grow, that shit blew my mind. The base of your plants were crazy to see! All we ever did was defol outdoors, which was great. We didn't know about bending, or we would have done it for sure. But, we did do an Acapulco Gold plant, and just kept staking the top down as close as to the ground as possible, like a vine. That thing was over 10' long, and gave us more than a pound of some dankness. We did not sell a gram of that shit!

I am going to post a tutorial/demonstration video soon, to show my bending technique, and really just break the crap out of a plant, just to show how remarkably resilient these things really are.
