Welcome to tronGrows :toke:

This will be my primary thread for posting pics/journals going forward. Rather than starting a new journal each time, it's my intention to keep everything here and hopefully I'll be able keep things organized, especially in terms of links/threadmarks and what not.

I'm on a bit of a photoperiod kick this year, but I figured I'll keep all journals in here whether they're photos or autos. So if you've come for an autoflower diary, check back in January 2023, or check out one of my previous journals :smoking:.

I just finished up some White Widow and Gorilla Glue #4 by Canuk Seeds, and I didn't waste much time in getting some new plants germinating. So allow me to introduce you to....

tronGrows #5: Super Lemon Haze & Sour Diesel by Canuk Seeds

Stay tuned...

P.S. Tagging my buds @Suki813 @Death The Cultivator @Stilg7 :d5:

#5: SLH & SD - Day 1
Day 1

Seeds were germinated a couple of days ago in Pro-Mix HP and small fabric nursery bags (sort of like a homemade Jiffy pellet lol). Cotyledons have been opened for ~36 hours and first leaves are emerging, so I stuck 'em in some solo cups:

For anyone whose followed my journals, you probably know I'm a numbers nerd. So here are some nerd numbers:

Temp: 26 deg C
RH: 72%
DLI: 18 (280 PPFD at 18/6)
Water: ~40ppm tap water adjusted to pH of 6.3

Basic Setup:
-2x4x6ft Mars Hydro Tent
-AC Infinity 6" Exhaust fan + filter
-Honeywell humidifiers/heaters
-Cheap low-profile ventilation fans
-2x HLG 135W R-Spec QB v2 LEDs
-General Hydroponics Flora Series nutes
-Pro-Mix HP growing medium

My last two grows were in an automated coco setup. I'm going to re-use "some" of this, most likely the automatic drain saucers, but I'm still figuring out those details. More on that later.

That's all for now!

Im doing the same one journal for all the grows. Except for the grow and shows. Its alot easier then one for each plant trying to remember everything. I only been doing it for a bit but i like it. And no doubt you will to.

I'm in, always been a fan of SLH but never grown it myself.

SCROG again? How long do you plan to veg?

It's always a different experience coming from seed, some phenos just will not nature at the same rate. I'm really fond of letting them veg until they begin forming pistils, technically I can sex regular seed by waiting until then. Long time, sometimes, though it's worth it cause I feel regs are just better genetically.

Good luck though, I'm subbed.

Thanks, bud!

Hazes and diesels have always been my favorites to smoke, and this will be my first time actively seeking out strains to grow like this. Typically I've just gone for the more popular seeds/deals, etc.

As for training, I'm leaning toward a SCROG again. Veg times, I'm not so sure. We'll see how quickly the tent fills out. It would be awesome if I can get them to where I want them after 6 weeks, but we'll see. My last couple I let veg for 8-9 weeks.

Very cool about sexing regulars with the extended veg time. I noticed signs of sex prior to flipping to 12/12 back with the Green Crack last year which vegged for 9 weeks, but didn't see this on the White Widow or Green Crack which vegged for 8. All were feminized seeds btw, as are the SLH and SD. I'd like to try regulars some day.

I'm thinking 5 gallon pots. 3 gallon worked great with coco with the high frequency watering/feeding, but with Pro-Mix HP I'm expecting to water every other day so I'm leaning toward the bigger pot. Thoughts?

I'm not too familiar with Promix BUT I do know that your veg time would be reduced using a larger number of plants. 4x 5 gallons would be the preference in that space to minimize watering but max out yield. I personally abhor anything over a 3 week veg cycle.

Your last grow with 4 pots would have raised your yield but at the same time I don't think a third light would hurt in there. Budget being a non factor, I'd throw 4 of those 135's in there adjusting intensity. I don't doubt with the right genetics 60-70g per sqft would be impossible for your. I'm fond of multiple light sources though for nerdy reasons.

You should be able to see sex on fems eventually but it takes time with pheno variations.

Since you like hazes and limonene terpenes, I think you'd love Ace Seeds offerings. Their Malawi and Panama are delicious. And Landraces just grow different.

Pro-Mix is a popular Canadian brand name of peat-based soil mixes available at most hardware stores. Many contain compost or slow release fertilizers, but Pro-Mix HP is just peat, lots of perlite, dolomite lime and mycorrhizae. Great for liquid nutes and difficult to overwater. The HP stands for "high porosity".

I'm going to stick with the two plants this time, but next time I'll consider going with more for sure. 4 sounds like a plan :d5:

I'll also check out Ace Seeds. Thanks!
