mates,...
...yes on the peak day hours GB, but not the climate I believe! Recall, I'm coastal central CA, with a damn cool ocean right next to us,... huge moderating effect on weather, day-to-day T and RH%,...a lot of Summer fog in fact! ...even a few miles inland will be a whole other world, no exaggeration.. we have a ridiculous number of microclimates in my area,... Plus, Fall here is by far the best weather, only right about harvest time does some possible rain start to show, but right on cue, the fekking mold jumps to life!
I have suggested trying fast sativas already? Cannalope Haze, Psicodelicia were both solid performers all around, and dam fine smoke,... Barney's Acapulco Gold did OK for me, under a real shitty end season where I did lose one, the youngest, to mold.. just to damn cool and low light at that time (mid-Oct.), but the others did finish and nicely too! If you're lucky, you'll get the banana-bubblegum like aroma pheno' =
fek me that was tasty smoke! great up,beat high too,.. her sister was very different in both structure and aroma, little overlap there,.. she had a sharp metallic citrus aroma dominating, and at first a seriously jittery bad biker speed buzz-
... that settled with some cure though,.. point is, Barney's isn't the best for pheno' stability,.. but theirs was the only AG that i could find that was advertised to be fast enough.... if all goes well, you'll get to see a couple others this year too; that African cross, Lilly (original delicatessen, there are other nice ones as well); Strawberry Amnesia, Skunk Special (Female Seeds),... there's a fair chance Magic may have something fantastic by then too (he and Ronin are working on many fine things, both are Sativa-belivah's
).... I have a reg cross of theirs already, Golden Buddha (Zapotec x Wild Thai Ryder-- note this is a back cross with an auto!... should be speedy),.... Also have Moonshadow reg., most enticing! But alas, reg's are a problem for me, no space/resources for running them in my restrictive grow place....
this year, it's 10gal fabric pots all around! If I try a reg's, I'll have to do the multi-pot gig (3-4), and just cut out the males, and use a bigger pot likely,... I've had pairs do well enough in the past, but a 4 plant Lambsbread I've had was a struggle!
GB, look into the GLN section here, Dabber in particular,... he and many other, myself included, found exactly that, too much N during bloom,... plants take that up automatically, needed or not, there's no selective process involved there! Most reduced the MC in favor of a PK booster, but BE isn't the best early-mid choice, IMO... too much K, not enough P, ratio-wise (BE is K heavy, better for late stages)... so look into a more balanced or P heavy bloom supplement, and also, get a micronutrient supp', humic-fulvics, Si,.. all are hugely good, preventative, facilitative, and more importantly reducing the MC also reduces most of the secondary and micronutes as well, so best supplement those back in as suggested....the BE is very basic, just gonad busting PK mainly, with some Sulfate (which is also great for finishing, K and S, Mn too, all key for terp's)...
