You've got beaches without people everywhere? :zen:

Ha! Kept singing that all week week. That's just an online pick of the product. However, where we were in Avon Nc, there weren't very many people compared to other beaches. Also, its a National Seashore (park) or parts of it are. You can drive on the beach all year and there are more secluded sections where there aren't any people. Even 4th of July weekend.

Had a buddy from Cali drop by for a couple of days. He was east for a Lambretta scooter convention in Bristol Tn/Va (half the town is in Tn and half in VA). He had two with him. We rode for awhile and then hit up a random access. Had to push them through the beach access as the sand was soft there. Got to some packed sand and were charging down the beach. It was kinda early, but not a soul on the beach but us. Pretty amazing!

Well the doctors basically just said that they can't find the source of the bacteria so all they can do is make me comfortable.
I am really sad to hear that Pinky, that must be incredibly discouraging. Good luck with it, I hope that treatment defeats the infection in spite of the uncertain source. :karmacloud: :bighug::karmacloud:

It's done!

The outer banks rules, until the hurricanes show up….

Hurricanes do suck, but when you live on the east coast, they are just a way of life.

There's a ferry now with just people(no cars) that runs to Ocracoke Island from Hatteras. Went over for the day and was talking with some locals at a bar. In 2019 they had a 7' wall of water come over the whole island! Trashed everything that wasn't higher.

If built correctly and not right on the beach, houses can survive quite easily. A friends house in Corolla in the outer banks has been there since the mid 70's with no major damage. Just gotta build right and be prepared!

Took this pick on Ocracoke Island

I sailed a boatload of pungent S.American herb into Ocracoke Inlet in the 1970's. As I remember, all the beach houses were on stilts in case of storm surge. The inlet is marked on the nautical charts as "enter only with local knowledge," because the sandbars move with every storm.
