I just think its funny that you are pointing out they are in Mt Dew bottles, like I didn't notice.

"Oh, oh my, I had no idea!"

Its just left over containers from when I started my tomatoes early this spring. I had like 30 plants and I just saved all sorts of containers.

Once the roots are sticking below the net pot a few inches, I'll move them to 5 gallon buckets. But since you have to swap out the nutrient mix every week or two when doing DWC, I just didn't want to waste any. I've already burnt through half of my 25lb order of masterblend.

Is there a better choice than hydro guard? Can anyone recommend one

Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide.

You can order it on amazon. Its literally a million times more concentrated than Hydro Guard. I'm not joking. They tell you the concentration of bacteria in both.

I've been using it in my hydroponic stuff and its worked fantastic.

All I can say is I have buckets and tubs with tomatoes, peppers, loofah and melons out in 95* weather and haven't had a single issue with it. Barely any algae. No smells. The water is perfectly clear. No nasty bacteria build up at all. And all I did was give each container a few mL of southern ag at the beginning of the season.
