I had the same issue with a bag of miracle grow soil. Super wet soil from being outside. My veggies are doing good in it but at first it was so wet it smelled musty and funky. But it dried and now is good. Weird.
Well fox farm seems to moisturize their bigger bags for some reason. I got the 1.5 cubic foot bag and it only comes in the ready to use variety. Ive only seen dry in the huge totes and the really small bags. Everything in-between is already watered except light warrior. That's the only line besides their coco thats is dry packed in every size

Ok folks. Come and check out my grow on Indoor grow section…

Waiting in the Mephisto drop later today to fill out the room:smoking:

I noticed a lot more fungus gnats than usual starting off with wetter soil.

Its growing for sure, i guess shes just a little slow, i covered her lightly back up
She looks confused about which way is up. Helmet is off already, so the cotyledon could be collecting sunlight by now.

Does 1.5" seem kinda deep? I been planting them when they have a 1/2" taproot, with the helmet 1/4" below the surface. I usually see movement in a day or 2. I keep a vented dome over it 'til the first set of leaves is out to keep it from drying out (@420Forever taught me that).

Some old school ts1000s. I have one of those. Lol
Yes, just a simple start, but I heard a lot of good things about them. One 2020 version and one new 2022 version.

I am optimistic it will be sufficient until I start adding some cobs and other supplemental lighting ie. UV and Infrared

Im more of a noob than you, this is my first REAL grow lmao. I just did what I did when I was doing it for fun. Im definitely gonna be going not as deep in the future, sadly i went way deeper than I thought, shes probably closer to 3" deep...my mistake. Also I think Im gonna germ in a solo cup with a mix with mycorrhizea from now on. I do think straigh FFOF is a little too hot. I barely covered her back up so im hoping in 12-24hrs shes standing upright

I use just the Happy Frog soil, works good for 3 to 5 weeks before adding nutes when they go into flower.

Thats what Im thinking, either happy frog or a happy frog light warrior mix for a little better drainage to start. Idk I think Ill do a little experimenting since I got 4 extra caramel cream seeds! See what works best for this particular variety.
