New Grower First Grow, Short Rider, 400W

i would not go more than 1 tsp a gallon a week and if lucas is a chemical nute you dont need to feed the microlife for uptake.
Short ryder is a shorter auto than most so this is normal

I know you're very excited for your first grow, but so you don't end up getting disappointed or disheartened don't set dates for yourself. That's the first lesson I learned in this game.

I planted mine on the 26th of September and I have a strain that's supposed to be super fast, finishing in 50 days. Well I'm at day 46 now and there's no chance I'm going to be harvesting in 4 days lol. I was freaking out, looking at the buds thinking "fuck, these are going to be tiny", because I had that end date from the pack in my mind. Now I've looked over a bunch of other journals of people growing similar strains, I can see mine only starting to fatten up now and I estimate that the first two, which are the farthest into flower, still need another 2 - 2.5 weeks until I harvest.

Men plan so god can smile. Your plants look really well for their age, but I'm telling you now, there's very little chance of them being ready in time for new year. From the time you see the beginnings of flower you need at least another 2 - 4 weeks for the buds to develop and fatten up. Then you have the harvest, drying and curing which no one seems to take into account. Drying will take you about 5 days on those plants. If you smoke your weed then it won't do fuck all for you, maybe a bit of a headie stone, but not much else. You'll need to cure it then for a minimum of another week (although personally I would go 2 - 3) before the smell and taste properly develop. Only then will you have what I'd consider to be good bud.

Chill out, listen to your plant, don't stress about finishing times and look forward to a bountiful harvest of fat sticky buds. You'll enjoy the fruits of your work a lot more.

Good luck.

Skobywan-
X-actly!! Don't go by breeders days....depending on conditions has some affect. I usually go by trich's turning from clear to tranluscent. In the old days, it was when 75% hairs were amber, orange, etc. I use a loupe to watch daily progress. You are sooo right on curing....similar to wine aging in oak barrels....a slow cure provides the smoothest smoke.

Too, I found Short Ryder to be sm....packs a punch!!! Pollenated Short Ryder with Mini Gun x Blue Himalaya pollen. LOVE the SR effect, the taste....just needs to be a bit more robust w/ yield. With the cross, I hope to have girth, height and Short Ryder's taste and buzz! Other than having sm. harvest, you won't be disappointed!! Save pollen from male of some sort, then q-tip it on Sh Rydr...Mmmm!

Thanks for replies all.
Yeah I would like them to be ready by New Years; Only cause it's been about 6 months since I last smoked; but I'm not going to rush them (i'd like too, but I won't). I will harvest between 50%-75% amber trichs, however long that will be. I will dry and cure properly also, BUT I will quick dry a smaller bud just to get my smoke on. I figured 5 days drying and atleast a week of curing before I started smoking the rest. I do know the longer the curing the better though. It's just it'll be hard to resist smoking it and with not smoking for so long it probably won't take much.

I'm just happy with how they look now. I've seen a few posts where others SR's were stretchy and scarce looking. So not sure if it's the genetics I got or what I'm doing right. Either way I'm happy and glad I haven't killed them off yet. I have some reg. seeds that I would like to start a month before my SR finish so they lighting schedule doesn't affect them and I can switch to 12/12 when the SR are finished.
Thanks again all.

Take it as it comes mate! Finish times vary, the breeder description is just a number to go from.

I would say you will be close by new years. They will amaze you, how fast they go once they start to flower.

Exactly. Mine went from tiny buds to buds that are getting massive by the day in very little time. I was almost thinking of killing this crop off and getting another strain because of it. They just need to hit that growth spurt in flower then they have very little time left.

Is it bad if only one of my plants is getting stinky?
One has a pretty strong (good, distinct) smell and the other (which is actually the bigger, bushier one) just smells like any ole plant.

i wouldn't worry about it not smelling right now.some don't start smelling till they're just about ready to harvest and so stink as soon as they pop out the ground.

Cool thanks. Wasn't sure since they were they same strain. Wasn't sure if that meant one was going to be more potent then the other.
Also I watered them with some water with a pH level at about 6.8-7.0, is that too high?
What pH level is too high or too low? Levels that would actually hurt the plant.

if JM would chim in he has a chart just for that.
