New Grower First Grow! Closet AutoCOB/CFL

You're doing a fantastic job bro! I love coming in here. Nice training you've been doing, they are some busy ones!

I'm still wondering if I should pick up a c02 bag like you've got for my new current grow going now.
:pop: Keep it real man!
Do you have air coming in from the outside? I'm thinking of taking it out at the moment honestly since it's increasing my humidity... With all the flaps open and fans maxed out it hovers around 50-55% I'm worried about bud rot since we're just about to enter the bloom phase. I know it's just gonna keep getting higher as we get into full on flower mode. Also the more I read about co2 is that it works best in a sealed environment. I don't want to buy a dehumidifier but it might have to come to that... With one of those I believe I can keep my closet completely shut and fully utilize the co2... Also looking at damprid or silica dessicants to keep the bills down but I think those won't work as well.

But yes I'm pretty pleased with the grow so far I think I may have stunted them a little with the lights these autocobs are ridiculously powerful for their size just a heads up for your grow @NugNoob lol keep an eye on light distance! The training is so fun I spend like half an hour just tucking away. I didn't want to defoliate this timw but I may if it gets really unruly. If I can get maybe 3-4oz dry from both total I'd say it'd be a really successful grow!

I do have "outside air" with the bottom intake open with a 12 inch fan blowing in from the outside room. Also exhaust fan goes on 3 times an hour currently for 1 minute. Its powerful enough to exchange the air in the tent twice in that time.

I see what you mean about the humidity though! Something to consider for sure.

If you can keep the humidity under control it might be a good idea... Excess co2 only really works with a lot of light and you definitely have that with four autocobs

Yeah I might grab one and can probably keep the humidity where it needs to be when it gets hotter soon and ill need the fan to be on more or constantly. Thanks for the input!

Hey jell0 I wanted to mention that a dehumidifier is going to add a tremendous amount of heat to your space and energy too. Mine is a 70pint and it spits out over 4K btu's of heat which is like 2 electric heaters on high. More air flow may be best. With good air circulation you can stay well above the suggested limit of recommend RH as well. I have had humidity in the 80's for weeks in flower but hammered the plants with air. Not all plants are the same though. Some seem more prone to bud rot and mold.

Awesome thanks @BigSm0 that's some useful info. My tent is hovering around the low 80s sometimes so I can't afford more heat. I have a four inch inline fan for my exhaust I feel like it's not enough airflow but it could be the way my ducting is set up, ignore the hangers and junk in my closet lol

Duct tape ftw hahah

It goes up over around and down to the floor, all in the closet. I feel just a slight breeze at the end of it. I was thinking of maybe reducing the ducting in half to increase airflow? Those bends and the length are probably killing the CFM of the fan. Or I guess I could replace the 4 inch with a 6 inch fan and use the 4 inch as an intake. I will make a decision very soon

Yes bends and distance is a killer.

As for the heat part of things a watt is a watt no matter what it is. Dehumidifier, cob, even a fan all generate 4.31 btu's of heat per watt. Most dehunidifiers are 500-800 watts. I would definitely increase the fan size or shrink the distance.

Day 44:

Happy 4/20 everyone, here's a quick update. Going to start reducing nutes with adding calimagic to every other watering, some tips are getting burnt I don't want to run in any problems. I may skip adding it altogether since I'm using alkalized water anyways...

Royal Dwarf:

Going on day 13, haven't watered her with nutes yet. I need to put her on something sturdy because she got knocked over again....

Overall pretty happy that they're around the same height

Since my plants aren't done yet here's my haul from the dispensary today along with my vaping gear, have a happy 4/20 folks

In case you're wondering I got half an ounce of pineapple sherbet 2 grams of wax (super sky/diamond og) and the gear is a NewVape Flowerpot and a Saionara atomizer with glass attachment

Thanks NugNoob, a new recycler rig to replace a broken one... a bittersweet moment for sure.

Day 46:

It's getting pretty hot here in SoCal, tent was hitting 90F which concerned me. So I finally decided to defoliate a tiny amount of leaves to help with air flow. Also got a few things to help with the temp swings at the hydro store

Adding the Pro-TeKt at .5ml per liter from now on, spraying overgrow twice a week but maybe for just one more week I'm not sure if I should keep doing it late in flower.

Looking great, I'm hoping the lower budsites get even taller now that they're more exposed after defoliating

I snipped her first and I felt like I was pruning a bonsai tree, seeing as she's kinda shaped like one. I used to help prune my dad's bonsai tree as a kid, who knows maybe I'll get into that as a hobby now hahah

This spot looks like a danger zone for moisture I'll have to keep an eye out in the future
