Just chopped the plants down this afternoon to hang and trim. The limit is 2.2 pounds and here is 2 pounds from my 4 plants. Trimmed one pound nicely of Grape Walker, still have to do the other pound of Double Grape. Unfortunately it only took the top few inches of each main to make up the two pounds, and I will have to hang dry the remaining 80% of the plants. No side branches just tips of colas to get 2 pounds lmao. I guess I’ll have to plan on just one plant at a time.

Here’s the 2 pounds that will chill in the dark in the 3x3 like this for about 7 hours til I wake up and finish. I’m going to weigh it all again in the morning in hopes it’s less.

I've heard some growers hang dry their plants a day in order to get more into the unit. You might be able to get more in there that way.

Well unfortunately the buds didn’t lose much weight at all over 24 hours so I’m stuck with the amounts I have. I guess if I’m harvesting more than one plant I’ll have to follow this plan of choice buds in the unit and hang the rest so that’s a bummer but I realize it’s my first try and I will improve on how I use it. Definitely a little paranoid to overfill it right now. The dry cycle has begun.

Once in the unit they’ll lose a ton of size overnight…. So I don’t weigh, just fill….but never stack the buds obviously. But anything touching won’t be tomorrow or the next day. Check the drip tray twice a day for the first two….

As for hanging, it probably depends on your RH in the area.

For harvest…personally, I harvest the tops….. then the rest of the plant eight days later. It allows lowers to finish swelling and maturing, while allowing dry time.

CRAZY how much water was sucked out of the buds and into the drain tray! I got home from work at 1 which is pretty much 24 hours of dry time and the tray was almost full. While it’s obvious that water is escaping the bud while drying, seeing that much physical water a day later was crazy to me lol.

Are you sure it's from the buds and not from the ambient air as condensation from the cooling process?

Be interesting to weigh the water removed and compare it to starting and finishing bud weight.
