I am curious to know----those of you who are growing in coco----is the wicking action make the the top of pot medium moist ? Or does it stay dry?

On mine the very top stays dry, but it's noticably darker a half inch down and I can feel moisture if I dig a finger down an inch or two. Now that's in the pot with the seedling. It's less prevalent in the pot with the big mature plant.

My coco is moist/damp all the way up to the top.. I have a layer of hyrdoton on top, so the top doesn't dry out much at all.

My coco is moist and dark brown on top of the pot. The water does go all the way to the top. All I have is coco in the pot. It has never looked dry.

I have a question, is it bad to take the pot out of the tray for very long? Didn't know how it would affect the water level. I need to get behind one to adjust a smaller plant behind it. Probably 10 minutes time
