Mephisto Genetics 3 Bears OG Top Feed Recirculating Hydro Journal

@Mañ'O'Green I have another idea...

I have a recirculating pump in the rez running 24/7 to stir things up and prevent algae. It works for sure, but last week I upgraded it to a 400Gph pump... This was maybe a little dumb on my part as it was running so hard it was heating up the rez.

I took rez temps today and they were at 78 degrees, and i think they may have been higher than that sometimes.

Light and heat stress are sort of related, and i wonder if drinking the hot water was contributing to the light sensitivity.

I switched back to a smaller pump, and now rez temps are at 73-74.

Day 49 from sprout

Probably at least 40 days to go.

She is 30 inches tall, and that's max height I have without getting clever with light mounting etc. I think she is done though with vertical growth. I super cropped the tallest branches and then tied them to the ceiling until the healed up.

Have measured a few days in a row and things seem to have stopped or slowed greatly in that direction so I might be ok.

The deficiency or stress or both is taken care of and she is looking good and healthy.

Looking good! If I supercrop again I'll try tying the buds up, I seemed to overdo it and they hung way too low every time.

I believe I was correct, your plant looks really good and you need a bigger tent! You are playing games now trying to tame her. Upgrade your tent size now and you will see the results will pay for themselves in increased yeild. 40+ days is a long time left. Obviously you dont have much wiggle room in any direction. I know your goal was to tame the plant by using 1 gal pot in top. I see you manicured well down below, but be careful moving forward into flower with such a tight space. Bud rot can happen from lack of airflow and dense/frosty colas slapping each other in the face. If you have room, I highly suggest upgrading tent size. Use that one as a drying tent and seed starter. Good job, peace slow

I usually only super crop in veg and early flower and they stand back up on their own within a half a day. This is sorta mid flower so when these didn't stand up I was like...oops... But luckily after I tied them to the ceiling for a day or so they stood up on their own... So it sort of accidentally worked out :D

For now this will be the biggest space I have, but yeah the hydroton restrictive potting didn't seem to matter much lol x_x I think that is strain specific if it works or not.

I appreciate the heads up on the bud rot, I have a 6 inch fan blowing up through the canopy and can add one more.

In the future I'll probably only grow small autos and Scrog photos in this space.

Looking at your first pics it looks like you have a ton of room to upgrade tent size. I am going to very honest with you. That tent is too small for hydro, unless you do very small strains that finish fast. There are not many strains that will not overgrow thst space if doing hydro. You will spend more time and effort trying to keep them from overgrowing that small tent. Not sure what your goal is, but your strain choices should be small plants only. 3BOG is a medium sized plant, but if done correctly and in Hydro it can get massive. I had one in DWC and it was 3×3 foot in size without training. I honestly suggest you try Soil if you want to use that small tent. Hydro is not ideal in such a small space, and your variety of strains is extremely narrowed down to certain types. Mostly fast finishing Indica strains like Sour Crack. Good luck, slow

Right now I have some space around the tent but that's until we put furniture in it later this year and turn it into a guest room. I'll be stuck in a small closet later and I selected my tent to fit in there.

I don't mind the extra effort to try and fit stuff, and hydro is all I know lol. No interest in soil and the potential pests it might bring.

I have been watching a couple photo journals on another site where a guy is scrogging large sativas in a 2x2 with even less height than I have in hydro.

It might seem like a pain, but for me it's fun to try and cram them in there :D Plus I legit only use a gram a week between the wife and I, we just like to have variety.

Curious what light schedule you use? I'm thinking of giving her a dark period, maybe going 20/4. The more I'm looking at her, the more I'm thinking it's light stress. Maybe she doesn't like the cobs 24/7

I've tried 24-0, 20-4, and 18-6 lights.
The longer times stress my plants, so I do 18-6 from seed to harvest.
It's hard to resist the tempting thought that the more we feed and radiate, the bigger the plants will get.

I agree, I'm going to switch her to 18/6 once im sure vertical growth has stopped. Mainly was using 24/0 because I was trying to minimize stretch. So much for that lol :D
