To start to encourage a nice canopy I’m letting the bottom set start to get vertical..

…while the rest are retied to horizontal..

Day 37

I won’t be pulling branches down anymore. I usually pull them past the edge of the pot but theyre on the small side so
I’ll let em grow up. The lower stuff thats there has all been given room to grow vertical on the inside of the bowl that I’ve created with my spoke wheel rim. They won’t all necessarily make it through the whole grow. Its up to them to prove themselves worthy. Most will though because due to giving them as much light exposure as I can I rarely have larf. Some branches might only have 3 buds on em but they’ll be big and dense and at a minimum they’ll ready to press.
So now I’ll be removing/trimming/tucking fan leaves to avoid light blockage and provide air flow as needed. These are both leafy plants and I’ve found in the past that if I remove too many fans early they produce a lot more smaller leaves that borderline between a fan and a sugar leaf. So I’ll trim fan fingers and tuck as much as possible until the plant gets out of its own way.
Tent fan is oscillating on low aimed towards the middle/bottom of the pots. I don’t know the science behind where a tent fan would be best located but if I only had one I prefer the lower part of my tent since my exhaust vent is on the top. Keeping humidity at 60%ish, temps in the 70s up and down ✌🏻

Day 40

Strolling right along. I think these 2 are the smallest plants I’ve had at 40 days old. I’m not worried at all though because they are happy and healthy. I’ve been growing some taller strains lately and I think that’s why they seem smallish. The stretch is just about to start and we’ll be seeing noticeable height difference soon.

They’re filling in nicely and our canopies are looking lovely

On a side note the other plant (GrapeWalker Kush) is 70 days old and getting close to the finish line

Day 46

I’ll be replacing the hooks with pipe cleaners because the stretch will pull them out and result in colas tilted inward as they grow. Other than that I did some heavy defoliation a couple days ago to open them up.

For a glimpse of the future…..on my older plant I removed the top 10” of the main branches that formed the outside of my wheel (plus an extra branch)because they were ready to go…

This will allow the lower growth to get full exposure now and they’ll be ready in maybe 3-4 days. Just wanted to show what’s left on the inside of the wheel so you can see the amount of growth you can get from the lower “little” branches if you get them max light from the get go
