Mephisto Genetics 3 Bears OG Top Feed Recirculating Hydro Journal

7 days is tops in a 5 gallon bucket especially when the roots get big. You really only have about 3 gallons of liquid. What happens in a small amount of water is the plants are taking in the nutrients they want and not the others. If you just add nutrients to that it can get out of balance really quickly. I went to a 5 day schedule with a large Photoperiod plant I grew once because it raised hell with the PH with the exudes from the roots.

My rez is actually 10 gallons, easy to check ph/ppm daily. 1 gallon of hydroton on top of 10 gallon rez. I try to change once a week but sometimes 10 days or so will pass

I just looked at your setup again and now I remember why I am following this. I have reservations about a 1 gallon bucket full of rocks but since I grew a plant in a solo cup that yielded 80 grams it may work better than I originally thought. The root clog potential is still worrisome.

10 actual gallons can probably go 10 days until mid flower.

It's surprising for sure. I am borrowing from @KsjAuto. He has been doing 1 gal top feed recirculating autos since 2016 in a perpetual journal with great results. He only uses 1 gal and somehow gets away with 1/4 inch drain!
The idea is that the small pot will keep the autos smaller. I think it's strain specific, but sometimes it keeps them smaller so they fit the space better.

@Mañ'O'Green I'm actually starting to think it's light burn. My strawberry nuggets was fine with 36k lux directly over the middle of the plant, this lady is only at 18k but maybe she needs to go lower still.. lights are on 24/7 so maybe I'm frying her

What lights are you running?

I have diy 2 cobs 3000k 80cri that max at 150 watts total.

I'm not sure this is it though... After I dimmed the light i used a killowatt meter and found the light is only pulling 40 watts currently... I have it pretty dim and close. The lux measures pretty evenly across the canopy.

Dunno if it's a light issue, but she seems pretty light sensitive. 40 watts is obviously pretty low... 10 watts per square foot...

I run Citizen 1212 3500K 90cri 14 of them in a 4x6 space at about 45 watts each at 26"+

Curious what light schedule you use? I'm thinking of giving her a dark period, maybe going 20/4. The more I'm looking at her, the more I'm thinking it's light stress. Maybe she doesn't like the cobs 24/7

18/6 for autos start to finish. 18/6 veg 12/12 flower for Photoperiod strains. In countless grows reviewed here on AFN plants that have a night time outperform those that do not. Besides eons of time with a day and night is fundamental to the genetics of the plant.

I appreciate all the help MOG, she'll have her first night period tonight!

I mainly did 24/7 because I'm trying to minimize stretch. Not a lot of space...
