Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

Here is my opinion, I think the rectangular shape and low profile are perfect for most home growers. Many tents are rectangular, and the low profile allows for more head room. I do not know if the performance would be different in a square version, but possibly if the depth was different as Autos can go longer in deeper pots IMO. I might make some square SIPs to grow clones in. The only thing the Juniors are not good for is trying to run 2 clones in 1 pot. So I might try a different approach, that is easier to top dress. Top dressing 1 plant is easy, but 2 clones in 1 pot is too tight of space to top dress. I have a few ideas thst might work well? Peace, slow

For sure slow, the rectangular shape lends itself well to a 2x4 tent - especially if you do just one plant in the Original size box .....

The shape and height also helps, both Junior and Original are shorter than say a five or seven .gallon fabric pot and our plants don’t need a tap root, right, you see that with the rootmaker starter pots and the not so deep Earthbox works well in that respect too, no tap Root on Sam and she was a monster ..... Some thought the earthbox square / deep root container would work better but when they did side by side that theory was quickly squashed and the grower went back to the Original his next grow ..... and I’ve concluded Junior for smaller strains and the Original for the likes of White Crack and larger plants - I would do a White Crack in a Junior so as to see just how far a Junior can be pushed but she probably is best done in an original box.

Wow nice grow and loads of good info took me over 2 hours a spliff and 3 coffees to read loving the strawberry nugz had my eye on her for a while but she's always out of stock have u tried mephisto sour crack she's in stock and I'm itching to try some mephistogenetics

you guys are light years a head of me I'm that much of a noob I found some earth worms in my back garden when I was letting the ladys sunbathe one time so after a few bowls I thought cool i'll add them to my soil will be cool having living soil any way I checked on the plant the next day and on top of the soil laid some crispy worms :crying:

:thanks: for checking out - sorry to hear about the crispy worms and you were so close to LOS - thinking out load worms might of got contact high from your bowl and it was all over .....

Wish Mephisto did have Nug seeds, it is my favorite girl but I have very limited experience with any of them and haven’t tried many flavors but I wanna gIve them all a try - hopefully Mephisto will get the bugs worked out and start delivering some of those killer strains again, sigh.

Oh almost forgot I did forget to order barley straw when I ordered bag of craft blend so just wondered how long it lasted (if it even goes bad since already dry straw) but trying to figure out what size to grab if any pointers! Plus how often should I need to add craft blend and should I topdress it or brew it up with some Malibu compost?? Any pointers on both is appreciated! Anyone with answer can hijack MoB’s thread kinda like I just did!! :smoking: Jk but thx
For straw, Check out pet stores, where they have bedding for rabbits, rodents, and such. Usually they have a variety of stuff that will fit the bill In sacks and not bails.

I ran some homemade square 5 gal sips. They worked super good. If I could find square ones just like em, in bigger sizes, like 7 or 10 I would go that way. But They were perfect for a single grow. They were smaller at the bottom, than at the top, almost shaped like a root maker.

Ok I’m quoting 2 peeps here bare with.....

usually free shipping, but more importantly critter free ime, although u will probably end up growing some barley if u go with the straw lol
So which is best bet?? Tons of pet stores and in Tx so even feed stores nearby but also don’t mind spending $15 (free shipping all but $30 box I think) but was looking at build a soil cuz forgot when I got craft blend stuff!
Also Mr Sinse was told to talk to u about teas?? Got any recipes u wanna share cuz I been experimenting brewing my own! Got tons of stuff from when I got supplies to make soil! Only plant looking like may have a slight deficiency (if so no idea what) but figured c.b. added to a tea of some sort would fix it but it’s in the last of my pumpkin soil! Rest are in what I mixed up and they are doing fine surprise surprise! :eyebrows:

I saw a couple totes that might work well. I think I want to run my photo clones in a different sized pot so I can run more than 1 and not veg long. The Juniors are not easy to top dress with 2 clones in 1 pot. Not enough space between them to dress easily. For clones the Juniors are too long for 1 clone unless I veg longer. But that is not my goal with that strain. I want to run more plants and veg only 10-14 days and then flip. Peace, slow

If you have meals, like kelp meal or alfalfa meal, 1 Tbspoon to a gallon of water, let sit for 24 hours then water in. If foliar, add a surfactant or spreader and be sure to filter. Kelp tea is a great general tea, alfalfa is more growth, and used a little later, like weeks 4-5. I have made teas with about every meal I can think of, and 1 Tbspoon per gallon of water works for everything. You can go stronger a grow or 2, down the road, once you get a hang for what may be needed. Nowadays, I just mix real good soil and just use straight water. That will come with time, as your soil ages and matures.

If you have feed stores, start there, that’s what I do. If I want something I get a bale. I use it eventually for something.
For folks trying to do this in an apartment, and trying to be low profile, the pet store bags that are a couple gallons might be a better fit.

I know I have kelp meal, crustacean meal and also have 1 of those tea labs brew bags! Forgot to mention that part! Should I put the ingredients all in that pouch n then just drop it in the bucket to brew for 24hrs or so? Thx

I would just put the kelp right in the water in a plastic jug. If you can, put it in a sunny spot, exactly like making sun tea. Give it 24 hours. The brew bag would be the ticket for foliar spray, if that’s what you want to do. Then you don’t have to filter. You can top dress the dregs or compost em or whatever.
crustacean meal doesn’t really work as a tea, it’s better mixed in with compost or worm castings in addition to being great in a soil mix.
Neem seed meal and soybean meal are a couple other good ones to make teas from, 1 Tbspoon a gallon of water. Neem seed meal tea is good anytime, I would use soybean meal tea mid grow like alfalfa tea.
