Informative video about SIP Gardening

One of my Favs, love listening to Alan talk about sip containers and LOS grows.

SIAP, but this is also one of my favorites with Kevin Jodrey, Alan Adkisson and Patrick King. Another informative video on probiotic farming and sip containers, hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!

:thanks::pass:

Not sure if you watched video but clones were used so that was level field as well as lights, tents, etc ......

With level field, my focus would not factor seed types - genetics etc at this time ....

In my mind why didn’t your beautifully grown NUGS produce?

Ms. U - she had stunning growth ..... I had never seen anything like it to be honest - absolutely killer ...

Talk about NUGS, with my VERY LIMITED Grow experience she is my favorite, hands down, so I was following your Grow with much excitement- I wanted to see you get a solid yield .....

So I just thought the grow compare video would help give more insight as to why?

Peace,
MOB
I was thinking more about that video and my strawberry nuggets. Those peppers in soil had the most ripened fruit. but coco yielded more, and rdwc was a total waste... However, did you notice all the flowers? That's a thing too that video is comparing flowering time of an unfertilized flower to a fertilized plants at different stages which also makes it hard... but that's beyond the point... times are longer too on hydroponics vs coco vs soil. but i think it had to do with the plant's predisposition to the medium (i know sour crack by mephisto grows *faster* in a 5 gallon DWC bucket when you do it right).
I think that the case with my nugs and with hydroponics in general, the plant gets exactly what it needs without searching it out through its root system so it grew a lot of unnecessary foliage taking away resources from the buds and taking away light. It was such a short stocky and was just kinda didnt amount to much. I have one in soil now and she is about 10 inches tall at most shes small, and so far shes all leaves and just a lot of pistils everywhere. I think genetically she's predispositioned to have that trait because she's so squat and indica in heritage she is from a dry climate so she uses her leaves as shade for her seeds when they are maturing. at lest that would be my guess, but it just never amounted in my case or in that video because of all he excess foliage

Great Minds Think Alike :pass: me too .... even watched video second time .....

what if temps were warmer, he mentioned lower tent temps due to winter - and - what if hydro went longer - so those two things come to mind ...... also the soil was a soilless mix and nutrients not a LOS Soil so all in all not a true blind taste test that’s for sure but the curios thing and you may of hit it - plant decided she could be a super producer and you know what that takes one time but how much time I guess - and will the fruit be any good

I mean we taking a determinate plant / tomatoes right - ones that grow a certain size and produce x amount of tomatoes / buds quick ..... and turning it into an indeterminate tomato / plant that will grow and grow and produce fruit over time? I just don’t know or understand but curious?

Think this NUGS is a different pheno type as I’ve actually grown two of these and they were squat and tough to train, this girl is different.

Peace,
MOB

:thanks: Slim for posting .... Very informative- Alan is so easy to understand ..... For all whom have not watched, if your on the fence about growing with an Earthbox this is for sure a must watch. Thanks again Slim. Peace MOB

Oh almost forgot I did forget to order barley straw when I ordered bag of craft blend so just wondered how long it lasted (if it even goes bad since already dry straw) but trying to figure out what size to grab if any pointers! Plus how often should I need to add craft blend and should I topdress it or brew it up with some Malibu compost?? Any pointers on both is appreciated! Anyone with answer can hijack MoB’s thread kinda like I just did!! :smoking: Jk but thx

I get bails of straw from feed store and age myself .... Craft Blend at start and that’s all I do - but only 1/2 cup per Junior or five gallons if that much - soil should already be charged up I’m kinda of an airhead and will add some on a whim - I don’t have a set schedule cause I’m still experimenting myself but good piece of advise less is more - you can always jump up but tough to go back .... top dress with compost ....

If you do order straw, get small if 1-2 plants otherwise large!

Peace,
MOB

I have watched quite a few journals, and have not seen a SN grow quite like yours! Nice plant, MOB!

Hey @slowandeasy ......

Think NUGS is stretching pretty good .... in a 15 hour period I saw one site in the front grow from 8” below cola height to cola height and now she is going higher - think you can see the cola on the left front - she is close to main cola height in the middle - this plant is turning into a monster with bud sites all over the flipping place ..... I tucked, pulled, candy canes and a few other tricks including bow tie and I’m real happy with number of sites popping up, now hopefully they will fill out .... I’ve also cut about 24-30 leaves, more to go but a little at a time but the darn thing is producing more than I’m cutting and she is drinking like crazy now - Goldie has slowed but NUGS has charged higher - 24k is chugging along, getting closer. Peace MOB
