Indoor tXr's Winter grow

Next week I will be changing the lighting schedule,
Sunrise at 0030 with just the 730nm strips, turn on with a 1.5 hour ramp time to full power.
Sunrise at 0045 for the 660nm strips, turn on and ramps up for 75 minutes and then turn off
Sunrise at 0100 for the cSpec Enhanced strips, turn on with a 2 hour ramp time.

Sunset is the reverse

Sunset starts at 2100 for the cSpec Enhanced strips with a 2 hour ramp down
Sunset for 660nm strips have them turning on at 2200 and ramp down for 75 minutes
Sunset for the 730nm strips starts at 2200 with a 1.5 hour ramp down.

Ramp time is a sinusoidal wave, aka a bell curve from full power to off or vice versa...

total darkness from 2330 to 0030. The time for dli calculations is approx a 21/3 schedule.

Day 21 for the DGxCDLCxMS and Skywalker OG and 8 days for the Rucu Cucu and the spare Kush Kush.

The DGxCDLCxMS and Skywalker are starting their 6th nodes. I am debating topping the girls. My best plant in the last grow was the CDLC and it was left unmolested....
Decisions, decisions.....
I'm a huge fan of topping as it helps me organise my canopy better especially as I run multiple strains so as long as the plants healthy it gets the guillotine

When you guys top, do you remove the 6th node or what?

I have been playing it by feel with the last few rounds and I agree with all unmolested plants seem bigger but topped plants are much more uniform with tight stacked bud sticks:shrug: If they get to the 6th node and I haven't topped I leave them alone

This is what I follow from MOG:

"The idea that buds need light to grow is miss-understood and comes from photoperiod plant growing. Once a bud has been initiated from the node it will grow without much direct light as long as the plant has enough energy to send to it. In growing photoperiods that allow a lot of time to train and shape the plant, exposing the nodes to light will encourage a bud at that site. Autoflowering plants do not afford the time needed to train and expose the nodes instead a one time topping above the fourth node will give you the best yield."

I went ahead and topped the Skywalker, left the 5th node(removed 6th) she is a lanky girl and just knew she would be a problem child later on reaching for the lights. I left the DGxCDLCxMS alone for now.

Don't be afraid to bend her over too if she's stretchy :yeah::naughtystep:
