Indoor tXr's Winter grow

Did you use a humidity dome (a fancy way of saying clear plastic cup) over where you dropped the seeds? (I find that speeds things up a little)

I used to prefer the paper towel method, but in my ongoing quest to become more lazy, i've adopted the straight to soil approach - I've also been clumsy in the past, which is never a good start for the tap root! :D

Good luck with the grow - Rock It!!

:headbang:

:d5:
Or the good old chopped bottle top looool works for me

:pop: Pulling up a chair too.
:yeahthat: Same for me since I ditched the paper towel method and went to a 3-5 hr soak then straight to media with a fancy plastic cup dome… my germination rate has gone through the roof almost 100% most beans are up in 3-5 days

I have domes but didn't think they were neccesary, I have been able to keep humidity around 70% and temps between 79 and 81.
I soaked the seeds for 6-8 hours and then into soil, it took 5 days for two seeds to push above the surface. With paper towels they are in the water for 8-12 hours and then paper towels for 1-3 days and are above ground within 2 days.

The Early Miss are from CropKing and several years old and probably improperly stored, LOL so I wouldn't be surprised if they do nothing.

:bighug: hehhe i won't do the maths thing! :pighug: i promise (to try and resist)

I find that having the dome on, increases the humidity where the seed wants to push up to, keeps the soil moist and warm. 5 days is about normal.

Saying that- if waiting makes you twictchy and wanting to dig in the soil, the paper towel method is the one for you!

I will put the domes on, it can't hurt!

I have the domes I found and used on the last grow, in fact I put them on the two that broke the surface this morn(their sunset). I hadn't even thought about using them before they break the surface.

That is the only time I use them... As soon as they break the ground and open up I remove dome for good @ Day 1:headbang:

I was told by an old timer back a few years ago, that you wait until the first true leaf is out, then remove the "dome". LOL, I have used that process on my indoor plants and have not had any issues so far. This time I was going to try not using them, but I put them on to help hold some moisture around the one with the helmet head and said why not the others just for a bit. I will see what they look like in the morning and decide what to do then.

Yeah i tried that last one round and definitely seen a difference much happier germination with the domes.. And you know I am a worry wort so once their up and alive I am paranoid about damping off so I just remove it:condom:

I decided to do a excavation in the early miss soil, the seeds have not done a thing, yep seeds as in two of the buggers, because I figured they might have an issue, ..... Well they were tossed in the soil because MVB sent photo seeds instead of autos, but the replacement SS Thunder Banana arrived today and I have some Jeano-s RBF and Kush Kush arriving in the morning, so something will get planted in place of the early miss duds, I think the Kush Kush will get her chance to impress! LOL
