Indoor The Green Man Grows - FastBud's Stardawg & Pyramid Seed's Auto Blue Pyramid + Soil head to head

Cheers, @Ripped In Oregon :toke:. I will certainly agree that it lacks rigour . It's just for fun mainly and I don't expect to get any truly meaningful results. I think a tentative comparison can be made - especially with the quality of the buds harvested - but I wouldn't have the balls to call it conclusive lol. You're right I'd need a much larger sample size to account for all the potential differences between individuals.

There are other things I can take away from this though.

1. Using a hot soil with chemical nutes is a pain in the backside.

2. The internet has a surprising amount of star, dog and pyramid gifs! lol

@TheGreenMan it's a cool thing to do and why not have fun with it :vibe:you may discover that one soil may work better for you. It will be interesting to see your opinion and the results from it. Here's for having fun and trying something just for the hell of it:slap: I used to use a hot soil(Ocean Fresh) but I use Happy Frog which is not as hot. I start to use nutrients at about week 3(unless for some reason they need it earlier) and not had a problem. I go half strength and I feed once a week but yeah hot soil and chemical nutrients can lead to some pretty bad burn and lockout then you have to flush and all that is a pain in the arse. I do the same thing when I grow a certain strain I find all the info and pics I can find and go through grow journals for tips. I love FastBuds they are a great breeder, very solid performers.

@Ripped In Oregon. Awesome, thanks for the rep slappage :d5:. I hear you on the lock-out! I'm getting a slowly creeping phosphorous problem on the lower fans, nothing really drastic. The new growth and majority of the plant is healthy, but It's been present for a couple of weeks now. I will have to keep my eye on it. I'm a big fan of fastbuds too, quality genetics and nice guys to boot. Was chatting to one of them on Facebook a while back and they were very encouraging and quite humble when I was fanboying out in their inbox . Dinafem are a close second for me. I also have Mephisto in my sights, they're meant to be pretty impressive too.

I'll take some pics and post an update in a bit. :toke:

Day 30 has arrived and they're throwing out pistils left and right now. Bud sites are appearing on all plants. The only problem I'm having is with the SD in the Soil Supreme. Yellowing with brown spots, purple stems and eventual leaf necrosis are the symptoms, so I think it's a phosphorous problem. It's worse than I thought, so I'm considering flushing her as her buds just won't be happy if she's starved of P.

If anyone has any input, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks for dropping in! :toke:

Your plants look awesome I just ordered my next seeds toofless alien from Mg cant wait got 3 weeks to prep and plant first week of November.

Thank you, Captain! Appreciate the kind feedback . I've been eying up MG for some time now, Toofless Alien looks epic! Tag me in if you start a journal, Bud. I'd like to follow along. :smoking:

So, I woke up this morning and the Stardawg in the Soil Supreme has taken a turn for the worse. I'm seeing lockout of nitrogen and calcium now, so I have flushed her and will see how she goes. All others seem happy, but they're getting thirsty now. Will update with pics in a few days. :smoking:

@Ripped In Oregon, I wonder if I could 'pick your brain' for a second? I just flushed the lady with the problems. How long after a flush would you commence feeding again?

I've been relying on the pH perfect element of the AN feed but, I think something has caused the pH to tank. I'll pH everything that goes into her from now on, hopefully that will help her out. :toke:

I would definitely get a soil probe if your mixing your own. and the ph perfect line only use half recommendations once a week. And use a liter bottle to mix nutes. Its way more simple than mixing big batches. I actually just got rid of my an products ill use biobizz and ff of soil this next grow going simple but less is more with autos I believe.
