Grow Mediums The Coco Home Thread -- Calling ALL Coco Growers!!!

i agree. coco can be a good choice as a TLO base as well.

Is that TLO?? I thought it was something different... :joint:

If anyone is interested, I'm doing a diary comparing 3 AutoXtreme over at Dutch Passion subforum...

Coco with Canna Coco
Coco with Biobizz nutes (seriously, this is TLO?)
Light Mix with Biobizz

I emailed Biobizz about it, and they didn't encourage it much... but I think they were having more reservation than anything... they sell coco themselves!!

Here is the answer to some questions

1: Biobizz products are primarily for growing on soil. Bio-grow, Fish-mix and Alga-a-Mic are not suitable for growing on coco. You use a Coco base nutrient and you can use Bio-bloom, Bio-Heaven, Top-max and Root-juice as additives to boost quality as well as quantity. These products last up to 5 days in a tank/reservoir. Bio-grow won’t even last more than 24 hours. When you use the products on soil, water 1-3 times per week, depending on water consumption of your plants. Use Biobizz minimal every second watering

2: use Fish-Mix during Veg and Bio-grow during flowering. Fish-Mix is a powerfull nutrient, which will boost microlife in your soil. Bio-Grow does this as well, but it’s main feature is it’s content: pure liquid sugar. This will benfit taste of your crops. So best use this during flowering. Fish-mix during flowering will make the plants to leafy.

Hope this answers your questions for now!

Best regards,

I'm glad I just posted this. I've been using Bio-grow since seed. Its what's on the bloody schedule! - Splendid results!
I´ll try fish-mix as they seem to encourage in veg..

Groff, I think TLO is true living organics...

Oh... I saw pher2's post answering dex... maybe I got it wrong but the way I read it sort of suggested organics in coco was TLO... my bad

Groff- biobizz is some good stuff. I bet if you hand watered it with coco it would be some great results. I agree, I don't think anything that is organic will last in a res more than 24 hours.

Not unless you want a stinky mess... ;)

Coco with Biobizz nutes (seriously, this is TLO?)

No Groffuwiww...i was stating that i think coco can be a great BASE for a TLO mix. Meaning the bulk of the mix, that you would then add organic amendments to, along with beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae to create a "living" soil that has mostly everything the plant could want. Hope that helps to clarify.

EDIT: i was also agreeing with him that coco with organic nutes will work great together. it sort of ran together in my post so i can see where it was confusing.

IMO , guys if your useing coco you should use coco specific nutes as its a different style of medium and mostly inert but i try to incorperate coco nutes with organics, you will see this in my diary as ive tryed to give a detailed account of my preasent grow and try to show how eazy coco is also its a renewable product not like some peat based composts every one should have a look at coco or even try it once as all you need for a very good crop is, a+b grow & a+b bloom thats it total cost of nutes in the UK in my grow shop £ 24 thats it

then if you like it you can add everything you wish its up to you, have a look at mine there only 23 days old so far the only complaint ive got was i was giveing not enough mg/cal but rectified this within 12 hours where as soil would of taken longer

im not knocking soil here and dont want to start this old coco is better that soil or visa versa debate its what ever suits YOU its always your choice im just trying to give yous a nother way to grow this fine herb :peace:

Been a busy few days researching different types of coco set ups!!

Looks like DTW (drip to waste) is an excellent option when set up correctly!
Not too expensive to set up either which is great.

Since i am legally allowed to grow 15 plants i think i will set up a 15 plant system!
Got the whole summer to plan, do repairs and testing!!

I am imagining either a mini forest of:
1- RCMC Auto Diesel mix
2- Mossy's Jems
3- Karma Dragons.

All will be pollinated separately in order to have seeds on hand!
Maybe a bit of breeding at a later date!

Will start a journal of the DIY once i sort out the plans etc...

:peace:
