Grow Mediums The Coco Home Thread -- Calling ALL Coco Growers!!!

What's up reb brotha? Well I agree with you, my wife always says she is a firm believer things happen for a reason. Glad you got the promotion man, none of this would have happened without you!! :smokebuds:

On the coco you are asking about. Either one is fine bro, I personally bought the GH cocotek.
1. Because its cheap and easily packed/shipped.
2. In my opinion GH makes good products.
3. You will have PLENTY of coco for a long time (remember you can re-use it 3 times).

Now on the canna coco-
Yes I've heard that the non-bricked coco is better, and although I've never used it, I'll say that it probably is bettr. Not only is Cana coco a good brand, but they make products that are great for coco.

Either way you shouldn't have any problems. I will say that I didn't flush my coco before use and it turned out fine. Never had ph problems and no other issues with it. But my method is completely different than others, and it suits my needs perfect. Your setup may be different and the canna might be better.

This is a hit. Open for a few days and nine pages.

I'll have a Coco Venti please. Yes, on ice. :bong:

I am subbed now.

Truu my friend! Congrats to you as well!! Looks like this is "our place" bro! LOL I see the good in both (coco tek and Canna Coco) but now I'm thinking trying the Canna Coco at first to see how that is. Ideally I just want to replace my Growing Medium and nothing else. So basically curbing the Promix BX and replacing THAT only. Canna Coco looks to be the winner at this point... However, I'm not turning down that CocoTek just yet as it's $6 as compared to $47 or what not... But... if I'm going to get the same results then why drop the extra $40? I didn't know you could re use the bricks 3 times... That's good to know! Hmm...

So, I use Advanced Nutrients Sensi pH Perfect Grow & Bloom A/B, Bud Ignitor, Bud Candy, Sensizym, Botanicare Silica Blast, and Atami Bloombastic... Because what I 'm thinking now is if I can get the same results just spending $6 instead of $47 then that's a no brainer... What makes the Canna Coco that much better than the bricks? Is it QUALITY? Because I see where they advertise "Coir straight from India" or "Straight from Sri Lanka". Is this what is best sought out when using Coco? The BEST coir there is? And I'm assuming now out of the ones I listed the Canna Coco would be the best... But like I said I'm just guessing at this point...

Thanks for all the help Dude! Guess that's why I'm your Ass!! LMFAO!!

OK folks looks like I'm gonna buy a 50L bag of CANNA Coco! Let the games begin!!! :smokebuds:

Rebel , i think its swings and roundabouts with coco but 47 bucks for a bag fook me mate thats expencive i only pay £15 a bag (UK) and remember you can use cheaper versions but contact the maker and just ask if it needs washed, personaly i could not be bothered with all that palava of rinseing and want my coco allready sorted, the coco Hereb4 mentions looks good and looks like its been cleaned but YOU need to check this

my first experiance with coco i done for a laugh really and got the coco bricks out of IKEA beleive it or not and did'nt rinse and it was fine in a 10lt pot then re-planted to a 20lt pot at about 4wks and she was lovely and also remember coco is basicly an inert medium theres nothing in it , if i was washing it id introduce some innoculants ( mycorrhiza ) i think sometimes we all just over complicate things just try and keep it simple , i want to enjoy my grows

Noticed a few guys looking to use organic nutes these might work but your still better off useing coco specific base nutes there not expensive if you keep it simple , christ my grows dont cost me £200 per grow thats only the price of an oz in my neck of the woods but i think there takeing the piss with the price of the canna coco Rebel yous must have something very similar in the states mate

Mon the CoCo :peace:

Man I'm so small time. I buy the $3.50 botinacare coco bricks. One brick makes 8 liters. I love em. Easy to store. It needs rinsed however. The run off it just hydrated and watered was high on every brick so far. Like ppm 1250. Maybe it was just this shipment or whatever but that's way to high for seedlings.

I stopped by out local hydro store Saturday and noticed a lot less soil mixes and more coco products then ever before. I asked the owner why. He explained that a large majority of his growers have made a switch to coco in some way or another. Might just be the right thing for our region.

Thats similar to the ikea one i tryed romeo and it was fine and only cost a few pounds the shipping must feck you up for likes of canna coco , there must be someting similar pre done and treated over there mate or got to ikea , lol :peace:

Oh they have lots of ready to go coco stuff but if I use it then what the hell am I going to do with the rest of my day. Mixing up my coco takes the better part of a afternoon and thats just fine with me. As long as I'm only a 4 on the pain scale I can stay busy this way:thumbs:
