Indoor RDWC Mephisto tent.

Can't believe it's been almost 5 years since my last grow but I'm finally back!!. Got a whole new setup, bigger and better. I went from a 3x3 to a 5x5 tent and now i'm doing 4x 5 gallon buckets. For lighting I have 2 leds, a Spider Farmer 4000 with Samsung lm301b diodes @ 450 true watts, I also have a led I got from Amazon under the brand "GanaiHQgrowing". Same Samsung lm301b diodes @ 240 true watts for a total of 690 watts. As the SF4000 is more than enough for vegging in a 5x5 I got the 2nd led because I was worried the SF wouldn't be enough for flower. Because of that I got the 240 watt led with a color temp of 3000k+red for flowering as it will only be turned on for flowering.

I'm using a lot more watts compared to my last grow. I'm really hoping I can manage at least 17 ounces total but hopefully it's even better than that.

Nutes! Advanced nutrients ph perfect bloom A+B, AN cali mag, AN big bud, and Botanicare hydroguard.

I am basically using Tangs og simple AN feeding schedule, worked perfectly for me 4 years ago and I'm sure it will work great now. Using bloom nutes from start to finish definitely makes things easier.

This grow is over 40 days in but I'm posting all my pics and progress until it's up to date.

Sadly I've made some extremely rookie mistakes that I'm hoping I can some what recover from by the end of the grow. I started with my lights waaaaay too high and dimmed waaaaay too much. My babies stretched and even fell over a few times because of it. I also think this is the cause of my slow growth. I'm @ day 15 but all 4 plants look like they are at least 5 days behind where they should be. I had my light about 60 inches away and dimmed to 40% for a good chunk. I'm also pretty sure I didn't bury the rapid rooters deep enough. I'm literally kicking myself in the ass over this. Its like it's my first grow all over again! haha.

On the bright side, I'll never make this mistake again! I got a lux app to measure the light my plants are receiving. Really hoping this hasn't totally ruined my future yields. Tbh I debated just killing them all and starting over but I really didn't want to waste the beans so I decided to just pray they make a turn around now that I've fixed the problem.


PS. we're not even going to mention why the double grape in the front right corner is even smaller than the rest. Rough getting back into the swing of things ;D

^ look how tiny they are for day 18! I was feeling really bad at that point in the grow, especially when I compared them to my first RDWC grow at the same age.

^it's weird to me as day 38 my plants still weren't forming buds. I looked at a lot of grows and every single grow I looked at the plants were forming buds by this point. My plants seem to be taking their sweet ass time lol, not that i'm complaining as the bigger they get the better. Also looks like I have 2 totally different double grape phenos, one definitely looks more sativa like.

Looks great, what are you running for light schedule? Maybe a little more dark will get them to flip? I agree you should be seeing something by now. The plants look really healthy and that stem is a monster for the size.

I'm running lights at 18/6. We now have lift off though! the weirdo 3bog in the back corner actually started forming buds first. The other 3 seem to be right at the start line now.
I was also amazed at how big that stem was. Especially considering that plant basically had it's tap root like dampened off when it was a baby which is why it was smaller than the rest. I didn't even expect that plant to live past day 5 haha. I just buried it deeper in the rapid rooter and hoped for the best.

I'm pretty sure it's from my high humidity, I started to get worried about it so I added one of those fans on the floor that can rotate vertical as well as horizontal. My humidity was reaching 60% on some days. I easily could get it in the 30's if I open a window to the bedroom but then temps will drop even lower. Adding the fan seems to have dropped it down to 50% which I think is fine.

These girls are really starting to drink A LOT. At this point I'm having to add at least 10 gallons of water every 3 days or so and it's increasing. Also, I've done zero LST or topping. I was doing some leaf tucking for a while but they sure bushed up on me.

Made some feeding mistakes which lead to what I believe was a phosphorus deficiency. I cut back on base nutes when I added cal mag so as to not burn the plants but apparently I did too much and too long. It was difficult to see if I corrected the problem so I removed the damaged leaves. Funny enough you can't even tell as these are the bushiest plants I've ever grown. Annoyingly so. I keep defoliating but the leaves are never ending. I'm fighting a losing battle ;(

Also seems like I might need more cal mag. This is not easy LOL.

Those are bushy as hell! But look great, even if you did have to clean them up a bit. Will you thin out the fans when they really start to chunk up for air flow, or let it stay pretty bushy?

I'm torn on my grow about it, but i can't help myself so will probably keep doing small defols until it hits a point I'm good with.

Re. bud formation, I have exactly the same result at Day38. I am in rolled down fabric 5 gallon pots, probably more than 3USgallons and auto pot setup. Sexing was very late, probably not certain until at least Day 34 or so, and not a single bud yet at Day 38.

FWIW, my interpretation is that the delay is due to the large pots and autopot setup in my case, and the large nute supply in yours. Healthy plants that don't yet see any ceiling on available resources may keep vegging a bit longer because they are programmed to do so if conditions suggest that they can. Just my theory, but it is really interesting that you are noticing the same thing that I am. My plants at Day38 look pretty much the same as yours:
