:booya:dam that pot it bubblin! can you turn it down? small new roots are going to get battered!

im not sure about this but i think when theres more roots in the rez it affects the PH a lot more due to stuff they put out? glad its all coming together for you mate, lift off time

No m8 , there isnt a speed controller on the pump par-say , It comes with a 6 piece attachment and im only using 2 of the 6 attachments , and have the other 4 bunged up.
What i can do is run a pipe to nowhere of another 1 or 2 of the attachments and that will drastically cut the air going into the oxypot.
The reason im running 2 stoned into the ress and not one , is when i tryed one stone the force was WAY to much and it was lifting the ress about 3" into the air lol.

Im still messing around with pump and working out whats best. I also have a ASP400 400ltrs an hour pump that i may try , but that only works out as 6.6666ltrs per/min.

This is all a learning curve for me as im new to hydro. i have coco pretty dialed in , and facyed a changes.

cheers bud :smokebuds:

yes... as plants get bigger ph will swing much more rapidly... you'll need to dial in and do ph checks regularly... looking great mate! looking forward to this grow!

Glad to have you along for the ride Jm.
Ill be checking the ph once or twice daily later on in the grow. Lol im actually doing that now , but thats because im intrested to understand and watch whats happening in the ress. Im sure over time ill learn to be more patient with it.

nice to see all those bubbles. I think that's a big factor in their growth rates... tons and tons of air.

add, a simple way to control the air would be to restrict the air line coming in in some way. the silicon line i have is so soft you can just bend it over and put an elastic band over the loop and it slows airflow.

You may not need to too do it... i dont know, all i know is when i ran two air stones the turbulence between them twisted my roots, knotted them and broke loads.

Now the plant has a large root mass it can handle full flow rate.

Good ideal m8.

Im not sure how im gonna play it yet.
Ill leave it how it is and any sign of that happening and ill slow the airflow or change it up for the asp.

Wonder if wiring the air pump into a speed controller work? cant see why not.

cheers for the comments ads , its nice to have someone to through ideals to and back :toke:

honestly, I see no real reason to restrict the flow of air... the more the merrier as long as there water and nutes too.. :smokebuds: theyll thank you for it.

Indeed JM the more air the better! was just saying to addski that i had had a problem with roots braking when they first hit the rez because the water was rushing around the air so much!

man... you must had a furious bubble goin! I've never seen that... but I can see with younguns their fragile roots could break real easily... maybe install a T and a air bypass valve... so you can let some escape as you're not supposed to put a lot of backpressure on aquarium pumps..
:toke:

imo i think they benifit from the root abuse.. let them break and they will learn to grow stronger, making bigger stronger roots must produce a bigger plant.. im on 7lpm m8 and i wanna upgrade, it just dont cover the whole pot in bubbles. im using 2 4inch ring airstones with 7lpm i feel like i need another ring with an extra 3-4lpm.

my verdict.. give her all you have bro!!

has your led come yet??

:peace:

Not yet brother!..

I checked on the lighthouse website and tracked my order it says status - processing? , Ill ring them or send them an email monday morning as i dont want to have to sit in and wait every day till it turn ups.

she really seems to enjoy it rough :D atm , she is looking healthier every day and the tap root is just getting bigger so i doubt ill be changing the airflow. When do all the other roots start to show? as i only have a tap root in the ress , and cant see any other roots atall.

peace bro.... :buds:
