@Homerjfries Figured I'd just tag you here so anyone interested can see it. The filter and set up is called RO Buddie, and is available in quite a few places (inc Amazon) and has different models. Price seems reasonable, and iirc from posts that the filters last a good while.
Little late but I do use tap water
was gonna hook a filter up to the hose never did it,
I Live in the boroughs 7.5 PH out the faucet but , try to let it sit 24 hrs if I can for the most part
to rid the chlorine, I use SoHum Organic water only living soil as a medium Suppose to keep the PH in check,
and make life easy for a noob seems to be working so far , don't know if its keeping my yield down outdoors learning right now.
getting ready to start my first indoor tent grow with the same living soil in SIP buckets gonna run 7.5 tap water again, see what happens !

Using promix premium moisture with 20% perlite added… peat based with coco too. I get it at Walmart for $13 . It’s a compressed brick til you open and fluff. It works well. I know ther is much better out there. Would like to try happy frog or ocean forest. Or coast of Maine soil… expensive. I have just started reusing soil from previous grows, putting it at the bottom half of the container and using the fresh promix on topView attachment 1370905View attachment 1370911
Im gonna go with the seed starting soil in the solo cup , and the Organic SoHum LS for the main medium !

My boys first plants, indoor or outdoor. Obviously out for these two.

I have $200 to spend on a light for a 2x4 area. No tent. In a compromise with the wife I need to have a tomato plant and cucumbers. My plant will of course be in the center with the vegies on the outside. It looks like the best choices are HLG, SF, or MH. Just cant decided.
Opinions much appreciated.

I got (2) HLG100 v2 recently, almost new, on eBay for 100 each. I'm using them for flowering a 2x4 area. I use the HLG65 for seedlings, but by the end of the 1st month they are asking to go under the HLG100. I'm just doing smaller strains, and topping above the 4th node to keep a flat canopy.

Man, if you could squeeze it I’d say a Mars Hydro SP 3000

Great light choices shared!

Without a tent will air circulation or odor, humidity, and temperature control be an issue? And do you have wandering pets?

edit: with the different variety of plants I'd lean toward two separate and dimmable lights.
