Indoor Nice Option's Garden of Intergalactic Delights

Wow! That’s a stunner.

I’m excited!

Remember its DWC though so you might not get the size but probably better quality, I'm thinking of trying out a different method myself ATM as bigger is not always better!

Don't think I'd fit her in my tent anyway!

After battling this assumed cal-mag issue, I'm now pretty sure that the problem is actually a Phosphorus deficiency. It only began during flower and that should probably have been an indicator. I guess I was confused as the issue also presented itself after switching to RO so i assumed cal-mag was the culprit but I think that was just chance as I happened to make the switch as flower began.

Shouldn't have run the feed so low I guess. I'd been struggling to get the ppm down due to the high ppm of the plant magic cal-mag and focusing too much on that, not enough on what the plants were telling me.

The switch to vitalink has allowed me 'space' in the ppms to run the feed at pretty much full strength, so I'm gonna up it a bit and follow my gut a little more. Had my nose in books when it should have been in the tent. :nono:

All that said, i could be wrong and it's still just a calcium issue. Guess we'll find out.

Wish me luck! I think it might be too late for the NYCD, I'll give a little longer to see if there's any recovery but otherwise I'll cull her and give the space over to the other plants in there. I have a skunk at day 22, a Critical Kush which has just popped above ground and a White Chem (courtesy of my growbro @Froot n Fuel) about to go in, along with the Zkittlez which is maybe like 3 weeks from harvest, I wouldn't feel too awful about losing the NYCD. Still got another couple of seeds so she can get another chance to shine in the next run.

Good luck man. I agree with your assessment. Makes sense with the timing of the issues. I had the exact same situation a couple grows ago,. What's cool is that it is easy to up the nutes, but much harder to decrease. I bet once they get what they need, things will clear up nicely,

Think I got a bit obsessed with the ppms as soon as i started to pay attention to them. A little bit of new toy syndrome perhaps. Paying too much attention to LCD screens and not enough to leaves! With all the charts, readings and measurements we look at sometimes it's too easy to forget that we're growing living things i suppose. At least I did!

Shogun nutes arrive today, I'll keep the NYCD and Zkittlez on the GH and give the little Skunk her first dose of Shogun.

DAY 55

Just a quick one to say that I think Zkittlez has pulled through the worst of it. Thanks for the help and advice. Just been giving a ton of RO and low feeds seems to have reset it a bit so I've increased the feed now as I think there were a couple of things going on.

Anyway she's looking a bit happier today and appears to be filling out slowly but surely.

As you can see, there's still obviously damage to the leaves, I'm sure that'll impact the yield but hopefully it was caught early enough to not completely ruin it.

Smell's not amaaaaazing but then she has been through the wars a bit. Kinda like a berry skunk smell. Nice but nothing special.

Critical Kush popped to have a little look about. If she's not taken her hat off by the morning I'll give her a hand.

First impressions of the shogun nutes are good. Half strength A+B with full strength Katana roots, Silicon and Calmag, coming in at 690ppm bang on the money. Quite high PH but easily sorted out. Hopefully the Super Skunk likes it.

I gave her a big ol' bend over too but forgot to take a pic. Proper updates for this one should be elsewhere anyway...

As for the NYCD, still not sure she'll make it to harvest. She's got a week to start doing something or she's gonna have to get outta there and make room for the others.

DAY 59

Zkittlez is fine, coming along OK but I doubt I'll get much from her. Not much difference from the last week. Fattened up a bit and getting a few orange pistils now. We'll see...

Pic's a bit rubbish, sorry.

I culled the NYCD. I love the smell though so I'm starting another one. Nice thick trunk on her. Looking forward to giving this one another go. That grapefruit funk is mouthwatering but it just wasn't gonna bulk up, she was damaged too much. I've heard the Sour Ds are a bit picky with their feed so perhaps that's the case with this one too.

I guess it's like day 4 for the Critical Kush. Just fed her some Katana roots today. Stretchy little thing.

I was pretty stoned the other day and splashed out on some Mammoth P. Pretty expensive stuff but I just see so many people getting amazing results with it and I need to start paying more attention to my roots.

Super Skunk seems to be enjoying the Shogun nutes. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I spoke to someone who's just switched too and is having amazing results.

Gonna be a pretty full tent soon and a few different strains at different points in growth. I'll need to pay attention!

Looking good

I’ve wondered if the improvements we see when we buy special products are more attributable to the extra attention we spend when using them for the first time. A roller coaster of plants being better or worse each cycle, we look for answers and fixes when maybe it is just the overall “love” factor that is more or less influencing each grow.

Don’t mind me if that makes no sense :coffee2:

Hey man nice thread. That's the bad part about bottled nutes, you always need something else. I switched to a 3 part powder fert with a powder pk boost for flower and do great. It mimics the Jack's 3-2-1 formula. Zkittles looks awesome and it sucks you couldn't finish the NYCD, I'm sending some good karma yout way bro

Entirely possible but I think I just tried to change too many things at once. The light is new to me and so is the RO. I've not paid any attention to the PPMs before and got a bit hung up on that. I did also have big problems due to the massively high ppm of the previous cal-mag supplement. I should have also used some form of bloom booster but didn't. There were a few things going wrong and I feel like I've learnt from those mistakes.
The first two plants were essentially just a test for the light. I'm pleased it was a big learning curve to be honest as I feel like I've taken a lot in and become a better grower for it all. Learnt a lot in a short space of time.

Thanks! I'm not too bothered about the NYCD. I think I know how to improve things now and I'm excited for the next go with her. I love her terp profile. Not something I've come across before. I was expecting more of a Sour D profile but it's completely different. No diesel to speak of but just a citrusy, grapefruit, sweet candy like smell. Really nice. Much more candy-like than the Zkittlez actually.

Zkittlez isn't perfect by any means but should still provide a decent amount of smoke. I'm not expecting much bag appeal though. Might be rather airy. Terp profile in't what it should be IMO but perhaps that'll change in the cure.

I'll try her again at some point down the line. I might try to keep her size down next time too. She was way bigger than I'd expected.

Thanks both for stopping by!
